Filling out 129F form

Hi everyone,

Please see our introductory thread in "Introducing our Members" forum.

We are filling out the 129F forms and have some questions we hope someone can help us figure out.

1. On the 129F form, Question 20: Your finace will apply for a Visa abroad at the American Embassy or Consulate at: How do I know where this is??

2. On the G-325A at the bottom of the form there is a box to fill in an Alien Registration Number? How or where do I find this number (if needed)?

3. On the G-325A there is another box asking: This form is submitted in connection with an application for: and to check one of the three boxes; Naturalization, Status as Permanent Resident or Other (Specify). We believe it is correct to check Other and fill in I-129F. Is this correct?

This would be the one in Canada or the country which he or she is living, we are in the UK so I put London

It is not needed, if you dont know what it is then you dont have one

3. On the G-325A there is another box asking: This form is submitted in connection with an application for: and to check one of the three boxes; Naturalization, Status as Permanent Resident or Other (Specify). We believe it is correct to check Other and fill in I-129F. Is this correct?

yes that is correct, the example forms are very helpfull

For Canada the consulate will be either Montreal, or Vancouver depending on where beneficiary lives, NVC will automatically send the petition to the appropriate consulate for you.

Montreal will be the immigrations consulate for Toronto.

K-1 visa's are processed either at Vancouver or Montreal and since you are in Ontario yours will be processed in Montreal. Good luck on your journey and come on over to the Canada forum if you get the chance!

Montreal will be the immigrations consulate for Toronto.

That's right. Although there are several Consulates including one in Toronto, they don't handle family based visas there. There is only one "Embassy" of any country in any other country and with rare if any exception Embassies are in the Nation's Capital City. The US Embassy to Canada is in Ottawa.

We have another question on the I-129F form we would like to double check.

Part A, #7. Other Names Used (including maiden name)

Dani has been married before, and is still using her married surname. This is the only name she uses, what should we put here?

Her maiden name. Also include with the petition her first marriage certificate (copy) or other official documentation that Dani Maiden become Dani Married. It's not absolutely required with the petition if not readily available. However, it will be for the interview, to show that Dani Maiden's birth certificate is the right one for Dani Married.

There is an approved medical office in Toronto, so you're in luck. But you will have your interview in Montreal for sure. It's a little more inconvenient for those of us in Southern Ontario!

Thanks everyone. We believe we have everything we need to send off this package...

I-129F, including I-129F Supplement: Part B, Question 18, our Letters of Intent, the Cover Letter, our G-325A's, our passport photos, Dani's US birth certificate, Dani's divorce decree, proof that we have met (3 times in both the US, Canada, and Bonaire where we first met at the swim race) in the past 2 years including; photos together from each of our meetings, boarding passes, flight and trip itineraries, credit card receipts, race results which put us both together at the same time/place, and 4 months of highlighted phone call records.

We hope to get this out this week to the Vermont Service Center and start our Journey........

Should we also include our messages off Facebook (where we met) in this I-129F or save it for down the road as proof of an ongoing relationship? I am copying and pasting some into Word and it is convenient that we kept one (LONG) thread but it has over 400 posts in it. This translates into over 100 pages of printed messages...

I just read somewhere on here to include parts of messages/e-mails showing a wide date spread, which we have. I guess from what I have been reading it certainly can't hurt to include some of these initial Facebook messages?? They match our I-129 F Supplement: Part B, Question 18 very well also.
