See, the thing is, every single politician knows they can't disarm us.

Unless a radical change to the bill of rights is enacted.

However, it's a lot easier to enslave us in front of American Idol and Dancing with the Stars than to fight us at Merriam's Corner.

Are you saying you DON'T VOTE for the American Idol or Dancing with no-names every week????

You unpatriotic #######! :D

The new suspect list I saw passed around was ridiculously broad. I'm not saying I approve of any suspect list, but this list would encompass both supporters and critics of the current, past and future government.

And that's the whole reasoning behind it. If it "can" include anyone, then anyone the govt. deems unfavorable at the time can be put on the list and dealt with accordingly.

As long as they keep us glued to our TVs and buying into the ####### fed to us, within another couple of generations guns will be outlawed and willingly turned in.

If the government is going to force me to exercise my "right" to health care, then they better start requiring people to exercise their Right to Bear Arms. - "Where's my public option rifle?"

Vika and I are in Nashville now - and packin'. We discussed it, and thought my CCP would work if we were questioned. Better safe than sorry - to paraphrase Slim.

Kentucky CCDW is recognized by Tennessee. They have a reciprocity agreement so you should have no problem whatsoever if questioned. To be honest, I'd rather be safe than sorry when carrying, but the one place I will not carry is a state where it's illegal to do so. From Ohio on down to Florida every state is good to go with the exception of Georgia. If I'm driving down there, I'll stop, unload and clear, and then secure it in the trunk or a case. Usually when I travel out of state I'll have at least one rifle in the back of the Jeep so I feel pretty safe. I like having my pistol on my side, but having the AR in the back makes me feel a whole different kind of good!

Like criminals, the gun buster sign doesn't necessarily deter me from entering while armed. I'll try, but I'm not going to go out of my way to secure my handgun before entering a place where it's only a "suggestion" that I don't carry. A state that doesn't recognize reciprocity is different because the whole concealed carry animal is grounds for federal jail time and I won't get anywhere near that for something as simple as having my pistol on me. Like I said above, if I feel the need for "more protection" I'll have the shotty or a rifle in the back with ammo close by. Not the same as carrying, but still better than nothing.

The fight for the privilege of carrying in other states is not something to be won from the driver's seat of your car - it's to be won on the floor of a state house building. (And you can't carry there, either!)

I am aware there is reciprocity here Slim - and also wouldn't carry here without it being legal. The fact that you have a valid CCP won't stop the police from questioning you though - and officers (especially appointed ones like deputys outside the cities) have been know to be less than knowledgeable on the subject.

Yeah, cops just enforce the laws, they don't actually have to know them!

Exactly. What surprises me is... do people live under rocks? Do they not actually notice that there could be major issues with that? I guess not, but then again I have noticed that I am pessamistic, and most people seem very giddy and optomistic about people in general.

:star: I generally would agree except I often think a person is not smart either... too much working with the public, I think. Have I posted the wood chip story? I don't think I have. A man in his 50s or so came up to me and was very insistant that I answer his question: what local animal do we have that leaves 2-3' piles of wood chips along the sides of the highways every 2-3 feet. I thought about my answer carefully, first determining that he is, in fact, serious about this; then deciding to not tell him it is from the genus Sears, species Troy-Bilt that lives in a special den called the "city garage", taken out on a leash we call a"trailer" and fed massive ammounts of storm-damaged tree limbs which it immediately metabolizes into those piles. So, to let him down easily I informed him there is no such animal that chips wood like that, and that it isn't anything living-- but rather it is the city cleaning up storm damage (I had had it with him for various reasons). He flat out said, "No, it's an animal." Now, I was somewhat stunned that he was not only not embarassed at his mistake but chose to deny it altogether. Bizarre.

There are plenty of stupid persons out there too, but as a whole, if you get a person by themself, they're a lot smarter than they are with a group.
