Good morning to my fabulous K-3 ladies...and Steve! LOL

I'm just checking in to show my support and remind you that Thursdays have always been good days for approvals! Praying really hard for you all! I must admit, moreso for Lisa, as she has been in this nasty game as long as I have (2 days longer actually). Lisa, what are the chances of getting put in AP again after the interview? Probably very slim. So this might be good. The 7 or 8 weeks is better than the 6 mons to a year post interview.

I can't remember if I posted yesterday or not. If not, then I appologize. My foot was really killing me. I was also trying to get a lot of things done. My boss is out for 3 weeks so I'm in her place. Lots of administrative paperwork and "issues" that are being thrown at me. She has patience for other people's stupidity, I don't...so it stresses me out LOL

I didn't tell you all, but I mentioned to Lisa that during my last meeting with the legal assistant, I was asking her trends about AP and Muslim men. She pretty much dampened my spirit. I asked her "What about Muslim men coming from Western countries?" Then she told me about a UK citizen that's been in AP for a year, but he was Arab. So I'm really depressed about it. I'm trying to think through the situation and tell myself, if it happens, logically, what will I do? But I can't seem to think about it without crying. I keep trying to prepare myself and do this roll playing thing in my head...but then I just picture my husband telling me, "They said they need to review" and after that I just lose it...just thinking about it now is making me cry

I don't know...maybe I'm just being over emotional...

Hey, I really need you guys to be approved!!! I need my friends with me to get through NVC and the consulate steps! I can't survive anymore issues, let alone an AP notice alone!!!

I just spoke to my attorney about filing an I130 for my step-son. He wants $2850.00 for the entire process. It includes everything. What of I file the I130 for my step-son on my own ? Is it difficult if it is a straight forward petition? He is 7. The attorney said he will most likely get a GC even if my husband doesn't. And he wouldn't even be living here all the time. he would go back and forth because his mother is in CR.

Jen! This is great news!!!! Listen...file for the step-son... I didn't know you had a step-son or I would have told you. File for him...he will probably get approved in as little as 3 months, like mine did. Bring him here ASAP. You can do it yourself, no need for a lawyer. Bringing him here will help you with your waiver... son's gotta have his Dad here! Especially if there is a language issue, etc!

I would do it on my own, but thats just me.

yes, I was thinking the same thing. and I don't want to go threw all of that paperwork to get my step-son here if my husband won't be here. Maybe wwe should wait.

Tax question... can I file head of household even though I am married? I am thinkiing of not filing with my hubby only because I need the EIC credit

I filed HOH, we are "considered unmarried" PM me, if you need help :)

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

This is an EXCELLENT point!!!

Narina,

All we can do is pray, there are some couples that dont get stuck AT ALL. I think they do "true" background checks for all the muslims after the interview..but its the "AP" that worries me.

I truly believe there is a difference between standard backgroud checks and the LOOOONG AP, that some suffer. Some people get visits to their houses and they call the family of the beneficiary ect.

and some get into AP when the officer really isnt buying the story but they cant prove it.

You know we're here for you. Try not to focus on the worst case scenario hun. We've already been there and done that

I can really appreciate everyones positive thoughts and optimism - honestly, really do and its refreshing to read the hope everyone has if we could all get past this damn VSC waiting game (I know some are already at NVC) but the game is still the same - Wait, Wait & Wait ... You would think the system would have better benchmarks in place to avoid the same thing at different levels of the process after all, immigration is not a new concept.

Sorry folks - frustrated with the lack of progress & time away from my husband ...

Ok, I came on for a reason & that is to let everyone know I wish you all the best and truly hope we all get what we want very very very soon! Stay strong, were all drawing on eachothers strength ... (F)

Ok to give myself a bit of cheering up and much needed jolt of hope, I checked the immigration timelines here on VJ to get an idea of where VSC might be as far as procesing petitions.

We received an RFE, took care of it and case processing has resumed (see dates below).

During that time, VSC has moved past our NOA1 processing date for the I-130 and are now processing 8/12 for IR1/CR1 & K3.

VSC is also processing 8/5 for I-129F K3's.

With our NOA1 date being 08/14 for the I-129F, do you think they will just wait for that processing date to roll around to review and approve both petitions (providing no additional RFE's)?

I hypothesize that if the timelines here are close to being accurate, then this is a possibility or is it a stretch?
