my wife has SSN and green card.

she never work at all/ no income for year 2008.

can we file as married filing jointly even do she did not earn anything from 2008?

any advantage of filing jointly?

Absolutely, you would do the same even if she did have an income (small income at that)...she is a dependent so its to your advantage...

You will get a bigger tax break by filing married, joint.

Yes, file jointly.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

yep, if you file jointly your tax refund will also be more as long as you dont owe anything
