Finally I got an approval notice and a welcome notice in the mail for my AOS (11 days after my interview). I was worried before because I didn't receive any updates on my AOS online after the interview (it even still says pending for both my I-485 and I-130 cases when I checked online), but thankfully I got the approval notice and welcome notice yesterday in the mail. If you have your interview done and you think everything went well, but you don't receive any updates online, don't be panic. You will receive notices in the mail pretty soon.

Hello w1331,

Congratulations on your AOS Approval.

I just wanted to ask you a question if you don't mind, I had my interview last week and the IO approved my case but didn't take my I-94, EAd, AP nor stamped my passport. When I check online the status, it is still pending. Do you think that it is normal? I'm just worrying about all this wait.

Please let me know if you had the same kind of experience.

Thanks

CONGRATULATIONS!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Hello w1331,

Helloo,

It is normal for the officer not taking your EAD or AP because the officer didn't take mine (although I offered it, she did say that she didn't need my EAD). I didn't apply for AP. As far as I-94, I thought the officer need to take your I-94 because my I-94 was taken during interview.

Did the officer look at your I-94 in your passport? When was your interview last week? I got my notices in the mail 11 days after my interview. Try to wait until the end of this week for your approval and welcome notices in the mail.

Since you said the officer approved your case, I think you don't need to worry. It is normal that your case still shows pending because it still shows pending on mine too (as of yesterday).

Yes i agree, i think its normal. The IO didnt get my EAD too but he had my I94. Just wait for a while and see what happends. I think you have nothing to worry since you have been approved.

Worst case scenario probably is for them to contact you and let you send the I94. It could be just a mistake by the IO. Its not a big prob though. Just wait for you Welcome letter it will be soon. If it will not arrive at their time frame then thats the time you should make an infopass. With mine, the IO said wait within 4-6weeks.

Goodluck!

Thanks for your reply.

Yes he did look at it and verified the date of last entry on it, closed the passport and gave it back to me. he didn't stamp my passport or my I-485 form; he didn't enter my information on his computer either! but told that he was gonna go ahead and approve me. my interview was last Thursday. I think I'll wait and see what the mail brings, hopefully good news :)
