Hey MENA, hope everyone has a great day. I am still suprised over my husband's v-day gift and all the trouble he went through to get it. Not sure how many of you read what he did, I wrote it on one of the Valentines threads. He actually got the Author Jean Sasson to autograph a copy of one of her books I hadn't read yet, plus she sent another book and autographed it, and she sent autographed pictures, a nice card and book marks. Just when I was crying and amazed over that, my phone rings and my husband tells me to answer it. It was the Author calling to wish me a happy Valentines day!!! She talked to me for about 5 minutes. Her books are mostly biographies for women from the middle east. She has traveled all over there including Saudi, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, etc. If any of you like to read I really recommend her books. The most famous one is a Princess Trilogy she did where a Saudi Princess told her story of living and growing up in Saudi.

Married: May 28th, 2007

Arrived in the US: December 10th, 2008

Good Morning Mena and Happy Sunday!!

Ahmed and I have a great time with Tamara and Adam last night at the Arab Valentine's day Party also.

I have to agree with Tamara the music was a little on the old side...especially compared to what I have been exposed too. But the food was very delicious. Tamara and I both loved the Garlic Tahini......so if anyone knows how to make it we would love to know. :star:

Hopefully we can get together again soon :)

10 warning signs that you may be addicted to Facebook

1. Facebook is your home page.

2. You update your status more than twice a day.

3. You have over 500 "friends" half of whom you've never actually met.

4. As soon as you step away from your computer you're on FB on your phone.

5. You are a FB stalker. You qualify as a FB stalker if you

a) click on someone's profile more than once a day even if they haven't messaged or tagged you in a photo.

B) have dragged and dropped more than 3 FB photos (not from your own profile)

c) actually go to a place mentioned on someone's page in hopes of seeing them in real life...creepy!

6. You change your profile picture more than a 12-year=old girl.

7. You have checked your FB page while reading this article.

8. You clean up your "wall" so it looks like you spend less time on FB.

9. You are a member of more than 10 groups and respond to every event invitation "attending" even if you have no intention of going.

10. You change your relationship status just to mess with people.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

OOPS....Ahmed just told me it was not garlic Tahini that it was a garlic creme  However, I swear he said it was tahini that night when I asked. Anyway, whatever it was we liked it and if anyone knows how to make it please let me know. :star:

I know what goes in the garlic "paste" but God knows how they get it so white and thick like that. The mid east grocery near me sells it in their deli. The ingredients are garlic, oil and salt. My theory is that they make such huge quantities that they can blend the hell out of it to get it to the right consistency. I've tried making it and it's an oily mess.
