Ok I have lots of questions and am so utterly confused!

1) I paid the AOS fee online and it's confirmed that it's paid. I printed off the cover sheet - do I send that alone in the documents only envelope or do I wait until I get the go-ahead to pay the IV fee as well and send in the two cover sheets together?

2) Where am I sending the AOS once I filled it out? Do I wait for the other packet and send them in together? Send them in where?

3) Should I send my husband a copy of all of these papers in Mexico so that he has them when he goes for the interview just in case?

4) My mother is going to show her income as a household member for financial support. We live in the same household - does she also have to fill out the I864 or just the I864A?

5) Should I plan on going down to Mexico to be with my husband for the interview? Or does that not make a difference? Or am I even allowed to be there?

Thanks guys! :) I am so confused and have searched online for hours for a simple step by step list that explains everything and can't seem to find one. The USCIS website has some information, but not a concise list like I was hoping for hence my confusion ha!

Cant answer all your questions bu here are some...

After the AOS fee bill is PAID, print the barcoded sheet and there's an address there on the coversheet itself where to send the AOS packet. At the same site where you printed the barcoded coversheet there is a link that you can click and will bring you to the NVC website where you can find the list of documents that needs to go with the coversheet like federal tax return for 3 recent tax years with w-2s, paystubs for last 6 months, letter of employment and the filled out I-864, your own coverletter just to let the reviewer easily know what's in your package ...this is what th NVC live operator told me to do. I did'nt use the envelope that they provided 'coz it's too small for all the documents to go with i-864. I made 2 extra copies of the whole packet, 1 I'll be sending to my husband and 1 for myself just to be sure we have enough copies in case anything happens.

Do the same with your IV bill and packet...pay it online, print the barcoded coversheet when status shows PAID and click the link again for instructions.

I understand how this whole process is overwhelming you ( it confused me too before  ) but just be calm and follow the directions carefully and you'll be fine. hope this helps!

P.S. I do lots of reading of threads here on VJ .....and asking questions too!

May I ask a related question?

How many days from the date of payment (online) does it take for the AOS and IV bills to get marked 'PAID' so we can print the barcode sheet and download the packet

instructions?

It took 1 day for the payment of my AOS to show as PAID and my IV bills showed PAID on the same day that we made the payment because my husband paid the fee around midnight.
