I'm in a waiting period wether im pregnant or not. Had my LMP Jan 10th...had contact 2 weeks after.... And I'm expecting my period Feb 10...so far I'm 5 days delayed. Took 2 HPT last Thursday and Friday and came out both positive. Went to hospital yesterday for walk in pregnancy test, but until now they don't have the result yet. Hubby and I believe we are preggy...but we are so scared to celebrate yet as we don't want to put our hopes high until we got a confirmation from the professional.

What do you think? We are not preggy or not?

hello vj's! i dunno where to post this question so hopefully sumbody can give their ideas or experiences...my first day of LMP was jan 5 but no contact after that & until now no period yet...last sexual contact was between dec 24 to jan 2...is there ay possibility that i'm pregnant? i had regular monthly period before jan 5...hoping to hear from anybody's experience...thanks!

I can only speak in behalf of my friend's situation. Her last sexual contact was Nov. and around December she had her period for a couple of days. After a week she had another spotting. January to Feb. she missed her period and took a HPT...it was sooo positive!

In my case, since I have start working I've been so stressed out so there were months were I'm delayed for a week until November of last year that I was delayed for 2 weeks and my appetite has been increasing and i've started to noticed a little bit changes in my body. True enough, I'm 4 months pregnant now!

your LMP was jan. 10, so your possible ovulation period is from Jan. 20-30 based on this ovulation calendar...

If you had no sexual relations after your LMP maybe you are just delayed but to be sure on that,buy a home pregnancy test or go to a obgyne to find out.

May I suggest a pregnancy test and a doctor's visit? Surely that's more reliable than asking people on a message board?

I'd say pregnant, definetely.

See, what HPT do is measure your HCG levels. That hormone is ONLY made by a pregnant woman's body. You usually have VERY low levels of that hormone in your body and it cannot be detected by a HPT but as the levels rise the HPT finds it and the pink line forms. So if your test comes out positive (two actually) that means that you DO have the hormone in your body = you are pregnant.

The HCG doubles about every 24 hours coming to it's peak at around 16 weeks or so and then goes down again. I think it's made by the growing placenta but I might be wrong there. That is why some women have their blood tested every couple of days to see if the levels double or at least rise so you can confirm a viable pregnancy.

it is better to go to your OB-GYN so that the opinion comes more from a professional point of view. But to share my story, my LMP was June 12. But there was sexual contact about a week before that. Three weeks after June 12th, I took a pregnancy test and it was NEGATIVE. But a week later, I found out I was over a month pregnant. Hehe So it is better to go to your physician. God bless!
