I believe you say you are female? If so under these circumstances it would be easier for you to get your permanant status with out your husband claiming abuse. They make provisions for that HOWEVER the catch is one you have to prove the abuse and two you have to prove you have a need or reason to stay in the country even though you dont plan on being with your family sponser ie your spouse.

my thoughts to you would be since you passed all the hard parts about this all process and all you have to do now is wait 90 dys before you second anniversary of when you got conditional residence. I would say find a small appartment or room to rent somewhere. Leave some of your cloths at your house and dont tell ur husband you got another place and i would say spend like two nights a week at home with him.

for the next few months try to be at home as little as possible, then after he signs the final docs you can figure the other stuff out.

so you're suggesting the OP manipulate her husband into arranging a benefit for her, when she has no itent of staying in the relationship (the purpose of the benefit)? this would be fraud.

No, of course not.

but what is she going to do? Let her legal status go bye bye along with her future here?! In a decent marital relationship, there is no room for blackmail or threats...

sorry about her situation. It is soooo common nowdays!!!

Apparently guys that are seeking immigrant wives know this trick and use it to their advantage (or so they think).

I believe is also one of the reason they marry them so easy - cuz' they think will "get rid of" them just as easy and with no or minimum loses. ... love is only a blackmail away.

- I still don't see how that would benefit her. He will go mad or crazy on her suspecting she has somebody else.... he will definetly not cooperate, why would he???

yep, ... if he wants to help with I-751 he can sign even if they are separated and live apart.

The problem is that he will not cooperate, according to her. That's why she writes here.

American men marry foreign women for a wide variety of reasons. your situation didn't work out, and best of luck recovering from that. in future when you meet another guy and have some interest, try to see him as an individual with his own reasons for being interested in you. give him a fair start, and forgive the guy who gave you a bad start as soon as you can.

hoping good things come your way.

well looking at it from your angle she might as well pack it on in and leave the country now. even though its possible to finish adjusting with out your spouse due to abuse its hard to do. also i think the gov is talkin about physical abuse with pictures and police reports etc.

also didnt tell her to leave her husband i was suggesting they need some space and I told her to figure out the rest, that could mean whatever. her husband could realize that she is around him less making him want her more and he change his ways to get her back closer to him.
