CONGRATULATIONS!!! Oh I'm so happy for you guys! It's about time that NOA2 arrived!

To everyone else still waiting,

Don't lose hope! Just try to keep yourselves busy while you wait... It WILL come when you least expect it ;)

@ Joyce

Just wondering if you've received a letter from the embassy yet? ^__^

Oh, and in case anyone knows how to go about this:

Re: SSN - Should you get it before getting married or is it better to wait until after you're married?

Re: Affidavit of Support (I-134)

Do we need the originals for the Form 1040 (income tax return) and W-2 (wage statements) or will photocopies do?

Some people say not to wait to get your SSN, but the thing I have found out while digging around the forums is that it can take up to 2 week for your info from your POE to get entered into the system by USCIS. This means if you go before you are in the system that they have to do a manual check on your status, which can take up to 12 weeks. So if you are getting married right after you land or very soon after, would be better to wait anyway so you are in the system and not having to wait forever for them to do a manual check to see if you are legal

As far as I know photocopies for the W2's and such are fine, just need originals of the I-134 as that needs to be signed.

Re: SSN - Should you get it before getting married or is it better to wait until after you're married?

It will differ from state to state and what some people will say. Some states need it for you to get married, others not. Some people will say it is better to get the card before marriage so the name is the same from the VISA when it is entered at POE. Then to change the card to the new name after marriage.

@ Danu and Sean

Thank you for the info! ^__^

Jim will be sending me the documents as soon as he gets home (in 2 weeks) (:

Now I'm waiting for the letter from the embassy and agonizing over the medical. LOL. I have a checkup with my own doctor on the 4th of May (2 days before my birthday!) - just to make sure I'm perfectly healthy so I have one less thing to worry about when I go for the actual medical. Jim tells me not to stress over things but I can't help it @_@

fwiw, i just checked our case status online (now that we know the noa2 is in the post) and it does say Current Status: Approval notice sent. after all that ;)

Your status really says approved? This is the first time I have heard of this. There are some people that have been married for over 2 years and their status online still says pending.

Thanks Fat!!! Oh I got the mail from the embassy last week. They sent it on the 16th and it arrived in my mail on 20th. The day after, I called in to schedule the interview initially scheduled on the 20th of May but I had it changed to the 22nd so I won't have to fly back to Cebu right away... You should be getting yours within the week... I hope they're going to schedule you same time as mine... hehehehehehe!!!... so Good Luck to all of us!!!... :star::star::star:
