Hello....

First to clarify, Because of my work, my wife and I travel to Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio. We have been randomly calling civil surgeons that we found on the uscis website, and so far, all that we have called mentioned that they need to do a full physical, and their prices are at least 220 dollars; from what I read in the forums, I know that a full physical is not needed, unless it was done more than a year ago; my wife's was done about 6 months ago, so I suppose these doctors are just trying to milk money.

Does anybody know of any surgeons in any of these three cities (houston, dallas, san antonio) that charges a cheaper price and is not demanding to do a full physical?

thanks so much!

I just had mine done about a week ago in Nacogdoches. Dr. William Hairston, University Drive Health Center

932 University Drive, Nacogdoches, TX 75961 (936) 564-1188

http://www.usborderlaw.com/civil_surgeons/texas.html

He charged $65 and understood he didn't have to do the full physical but did have to fill out the Vaccine section and section 5 of the I693. (most of the civil surgeons are clueless about this so you may have to download the rules to this and take it to them along with the I-693 form.

Dr. L. E. Arnold

4534 Westgate Boulevard, Suite 106

Austin, TX 78745

Tel: (512) 444-3131

Fax: (512) 447-4699

Partially correct. As of November 2008, Dr. Arnold (I didn't learn if it's a man or a woman) did them by mail for $20 cash or check or money order. The correct suite number is #114. You must telephone their office first to learn what is required in your specific situation (age-appropriate vaccines, etc.). Leave a message, and Tammie (the office assistant) WILL call you back.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thanks for the suggestions....called Dr. Arnold, and spoke to somebody in the office and they said they were extremely busy and they would call back. That was monday, no call yet, so we called, left a message. Dr. Hairson's office said it was 200 dollars plus any additional vaccines, but they could take a look a the form to see what vaccines might be missing.

I learned that Dr. Arnold's office is small, with only the doctor, a nurse, and Tammie. My experience was that Tammie proved to be VERY responsive, especially given how busy they must be with their own regular patient load, I-693s aside.

It was easy for us to get an appointment, no waiting required. We paid $50 (co-pay with our insurance company, otherwise $120 total) for MMR and Td shots required for AOS, and no full physical was needed because I had mine in October 2008 before I came to the US.

Hope this helps.

Were just in dallas yesterday, but was able to get a hold of Dr. Arnold, and we'll stop by her office in Austin and drop off the papers requested there.

For those that can't do that, you can call the office, leave a message, and you'll get a call back with instructions as to what to mail to them.

As far as the STD----don't think that's required for our k1 AOS....not sure what's required for other visas.

We have an original of our 3025 as my wife got back in june from the romanian doctor, and we are bringing that, as it has all pertinent info that Dr. Arnold's office staff requested (MMR shots, varicella shots, tetanus shot)

On another note, we saw a place in houston that said immigration physicals so i went in to ask, and they said they did the whole 693 form for 80 dollars. Quite a bargain cause every place i called in the area was charging $220 to $275. One place even quoted me 700 dollars!!! HOwever, this place that does it for 80 dollars, wouldn't just transcribe the shots to the 693 form. They said the whole physical needed to be done (blood draw, TB test). I tried to reason with them, but the lady said, "is all or nothing."

Thanks again for all the help!
