Amen brother! I can remember "party lines" when I was a kid. We didn't even have our own phone number! You had to listen to the ring pattern to see if it was for you. ( ours was 2 shorts and one long ) And if you wanted to use the phone you sometimes had to wait until your neighbor was finished using the phone. Forget calling long distance! Even then it cost several dollars per minute to call out of state! I couldn't imagine what it would be to call out of the country. We are a bunch of spoiled brats today. ( I include myself to some extent there )

We only had a 3 digit phone number when I was a kid and we had three other families on our line so each house had a different ring. We didn't even have a dialer, it was all operator oriented. 'number please'.

I've always had a fascination with flying, and airliners are NOT the way to really experience it. Airliners are about getting a large number of passengers safely from point A to point B, nothing else.

I like this guy. But, he forgot the black and white tv, that weighed a ton, and sucked all the electricity in the neighborhood, with three snowy channels, and you had to use a pair of pliers to change the channel, because the knob was stripped!

I grew up on the western slope of Colorado. Heck, I didn't see a TV until I was 7 or 8.
