Hi, I asked this on the AOS forum but it might fit better here,

I travelled with my fiance back to the US and we landed at LAX two weeks ago. The immigration officer there was really nice and I thought the whole thing went really well; however, now that we're applying for her AOS, I don't see a copy of the I-94 anywhere. We don't recall being handed anything by the officer at the time.

My question is do we need this I-94 for future paperwork and if we didn't receive it, do I still need to pay the $302 fee to file the I-102 form for replacing the I-94?

Thanks.

I-94 is the form that u filled out on the plane they will give u that form and you filled it out .....then on ur POE they will attach that I-94 to ur passport......when ur applying for SSN card they will ask for ur I-94 and when ur applying for some sort of ID`S or license or learners permit they will ask for ur I-94..........( your Visa must be good for at least 30 day's beyond the application date " california " for Cal ID or drivers lic )........I-94 is a small white card that they will staple on the page of ur passport that is very important!!!!

perhaps you can show your "entry stamp on passport and ask for a I-94 at Custom............

I'm learning it is essential to have a copy of the I-94 and we never got one. I'm looking at her passport and there are no staple holes so it was never attached.

Has anyone else not received a copy of the arrival/departure card? I'm going to call Tuesday but does anyone know if we'll have to pay the filing fee for a copy to be created and delivered to us...Doesn't seem right to have to pay $300 for this but I've spent a year on this process so far and absolutely nothing will surprise me now!

We had incorrectly stamped I-94 forms for my wife and daughter. Got them replaced with correct ones free by the nearest CBP station chief. I assume there is an entry stamp, so they can simply create a new I-94 and staple it in the passport with the appropriate stamps. There was no charge of correcting their error.
