a new USA passport would be great thus my question : At what point can can I get a USA Passport ? : When can I apply for a USA Passport ?

Must i have my USA Citizenship first ? then I can apply ?

Thank if you know ? I expect that I can't apply for one yet but perhaps they have a " limited type of passport " pending final citizenship

We had to get Claudeth's passport renewed and that was a real e-ticket ride (old Disneyland reference). You need to take all your documentation to do this including, divorce papers, marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc. It was a nightmare becuase they wouldn't tell us all at once what we needed so I kept having to go to this copy place in the same building to get copies of documents made. No one can say the Filipino government doesn't know anything about red tape :P

Apply for amendment of passport if you want to use your married name and you can do that by mail except for renewal of passport they require personal appearance but before you do that you need to file REPORT OF MARRIAGE ABROAD if the marriage was done here in US.How long you have been married?you can apply for citizenship after 3years of being a green card holder if the application is based on a marriage to a US citizen.

The bad thing about the Filipino passport is that they only issue them for five years.

yes sir you are right with that  Philippine passport should be valid for 10 years like US passport in that way we pinoys overseas will not have have to deal with headaches for doing this and that.Hopefully in the future it will happen.

What state are you?File the application to the Philippine consulate where it has a jurisdiction of your state. You download the application forms and follow instructions and make sure you send the right amount of fees.

get your new passport at philippine consulate from where you in the states. Just present your marriage certificate to allow you to use your husbands surname. Thats the procedure here in the Philippines.

If the marriage was solemnized in the Philippines it will be easy you just have to do sumbit the Original/certified true copies and photocopies (original will be return to you after the process) of marriage certificate to renew/amend your passport if you wish to change your maiden surname to your married name but if the marriage was solemnized here in US its a different story....as I have posted above you need to submit REPORT OF MARRIAGE ABROAD.
