Hello,

Yesterday my husband and I Feb. 13, 2009 went to the Philipppine Consulate in New York to ammend my passport. I was surprised when the passport officer informed us that I have to apply the report of marriage in Los Angeles, California, since my marriage was solemnized in Las Vegas, Nevada. But I told him that I live here in New York and he said it is not in their jurisdiction. I came here in US with a fiancee visa, I'm currently in the stage of removing my conditions. I'm not sure if I need to ammend my passport, we never had any interview with the US Immigration

Did you have to report your marriage and go through the ammendment your passport? My passport still has my maiden name and it expires on 2010, we can't afford to go to California at this time. I hope someone here can help me,

Thank you for any help :D

Hi,

I did mine last year and you do not have to travel for the Report of marriage application you can do it by mail just complete the requirements and send correct fees. Check their website www.philipineconsulatela.org and speak with one of the staff for clarifications. After that processed approved (report of marriage) you go back to consulate in new york for amendment/renewing your passport.Goodluck.

If you apply for Ammendment of Passport, do they have to renew ur passport or they will just put stamp on it?

How long will it take to have your ammended?

If you want to save, you don't need to amend your passport, wait for the copy of your report of marriage and renew your passport so that you don't need to pay for the amendment($20), that's what i did this month file the passport application form with copy of your report of marriage, front page of your old passport.

EAD APPLICATION:

2009-01-10 ----- E-filed EAD Application

2009-02-11-------Biometrics Date (done smoothly)

2009-4-15 -------- EAD Approved

2009-4-24 -------- EAD Received by mail ( yyyeeeeessssss)
