Hello everyone,

I haven't been on visa journey in awhile (I know my husband posted a few days ago) so I hope I'm in the right forum. We received a RFE from California several days ago for the updated physical and vaccination report. My husband went to the USCIS approved dr this week and got everything taken care of. We have the sealed envelope ready to go. It's due by 3/18. It's ready to mail but we wanted to hold it a week or two before sending due to the following. The concern lies in this: my husband goes on a business trip from March 4th-April 1st and wouldn't be able to get home again to accept the green card if it arrives during this time. Is there any way to know when your card will arrive in the mail so he can be here to accept it? Or a way to ask USCIS not to deliver until after a certain date? Does anyone know how long it normally takes for the card to arrive following their receipt of the phsyical information? (I'm sure this varies though.) What would happen if it arrives while he is away? Can I accept it? Any suggestions or information would be extremely helpful.

Thank you,

Megan

He does not need to physically be home when the card arrives - I believe it arrives via regular USPS (no signature required).

Really? I've been told it arrives and has to be signed for by the individual receiving it!

Well, that would be great! Thank you for your response!

Is this how it's worked for others? Anyone had to be present to accept the greencard?

Ours also just arrived in the mailbox one day. I've not read on here about anyone having to be physically there to receive it.

These are all great responses. Thank you all for easing my mind. We'll send the paperwork right away and he can go on his trip without worry to both of us.

A woman works here at our apartment complex and told us her husband had his hand delivered. She said that his information all needed to be checked before he could sign for it. But it sounds as if she is on another track, thinking of something else.
