The thing is I could take 100 trips and she could give correct info on all the questions but they could deny just because they feel like it. That was the reason for going to Thailand

Whenever I was shopping for lawyers to handle my case, I called more than 10 lawyers but Lolly and Holmes where the only ones to tell me to get married in Thailand. You can try to be the very 1st person on this forum, with a Vietnamese spouse, to try the Thailand route. But I would imagine she would have to move to Thailand and get an address there so that the US consulate in Thailand can send paperwork too or They could do heavy investigation and do something like come to her residence and ask about the relationship from the neighbors, like I've seen them do to others on this forum. If you are planing to get married in a different country then why don't you get married somewhere your wife can speak Chinese, since she is more fluent in Chinese, so there is no more confusion. If I were you I would just try to work with Vietnam and try to take time to develop more evidence as opposed to rushing in it and filing k3/CR-1 right after you got refused for the k1. Give your fiancee more time to learn more about you and develop better english communication while talking and getting to know you longer.

Yes, but we all face that same situation. I believe that keeping things as simple and understandable as possible is the best approach.

I have to agree with these two. You can get this visa if it is what you want. My idea is just to start from scratch and do it this time the right way. You know now what needs to be done as everyone else here has learned to do that were successful.

But then again it will be very interesting to see the saga continue into Thailand. please keep us abreast of that.

You are working down the road of establishing the bona fides of your relationship. This trip coming up, a public wedding party, more time together, etc. Those are the things that will show the CO that your intentions are true. The time together will also help her learn more about you (and you about her) thus paving the way for a good life together.

Don't let the frustration get the best of you. You are going down the more typical road for those that get denied. Pulling a "crazy ivan" ('if you saw Hunt for Red October you get the reference) might cause more questions to be raised.

Keep the BIG PICTURE in mind. That is getting your fiance here with you. Keep building your case and proof and you will be happy.

Just my two cents. Have a great trip over and a wonderful wedding.

Bryon whats that status of your case? I just spoke with Allen Lolly today and he is also suggesting getting married in Thailand which i think isnt doable at all for me. He is formally filing a request to freeze the case in HCMC and ask that I be able to appear in person for a petition and show additional evidence. He has me a bit worried stating that since she has been denied once and that they called our relationship a sham or fake that no matter what it could be denied again. Im growing gray hair by the minute over this stuff. Any body wanna suggest anything.????

BUMP any news yet? We were denied for our visa because my fiancee could not answer a few questions and we engage so early after meeting. Lawyer is in the process of apeal and trying to set up interview for me and fiancee in HCMC. Just wondering how things are going Bryon.

Well I got married on feb 28th then went back and picked up the marriage certificate. I didn't get married in Thailand because I have not heard of anybody doing it. Im worried because we have a denied visa and going to thiland might make it look like another scam. I was told if your relationship is real she will get her visa no matter what so it should be ok. I have hired ME and will get my congressmen involved if needed. I think if I wouldn't have the denial on my record I would have married her in Thailand. If I were to marry her in Thailand and it got denied and went for revoke I would have had a harder time to dispute it. I love my wife to much to take that chance.

I'm a little worried after looking at all these denials lately most have better cases than I do and would have easily gotten there visa if they interviewed in any other consulate in the world. You have to weight everything carefully and make sure you fiancee or wife knows the possible outcomes before you make a decision. It's half her decision also my wife wanted to get married in Vietnam however when she heard everything she cound't decide she was 50/50.

You're in it, to win it Bryonnm4 - If you keep looking around long enough, see people fail the interview left and right, it's very discouraging isn't it? Don't be, each case has its own twists and turns, yours too... You don't know the real reason why their case got denied, delay, neither do I.

Now think of this worst case scenario: you and her cannot build your life in America, will that stop you from loving her and move to VN? Or that is the deal breaker, all bets are off? After all, that's what LOVE means, making sacrifices, and be with your love wherever it may be, as long as you two are together. If you haven't thought of that, you should... then whatever the outcome may be you will sure be ready for it. Unlike some don't prepare for the worst and hope for the best, just take it easy and do the minimum to get by.

"You always get what you've always gotten if you always do what you always did."
