hi,

how long it will take for my daughter's approval?we start processed her papers lastmonth. while mine i got my visa last feb11,2009 and my visa will expires on june 11,2009. i need to bring my baby with me so il wait for her. does somebody else knows how long il wait for her?my daughter is 1 year old now.

you should have delayed getting your visa or started your child's sooner...

if you want to take your daughter with you and wait for her then you can surrender your visa when it expires to USEM and write them a letter of explanation, then they will issue you a new visa..

* Validity of visas

Generally, an immigrant visa is valid for six (6) months from the date of issuance. The validity of a visa, however, may also be limited because of medical restrictions or other reasons. If an applicant knows that departure will not be possible within this period, he or she should request to have the interview moved to a later date. The Embassy does not extend the validity of an issued visa. However, an expired visa may be replaced if the applicant is able to demonstrate that his/her ability to use the visa was due to circumstances beyond his/her control. If an applicant is determined to be eligible for a replacement visa, he/she will be asked to update his record and will be charged the applicable consular fees.

To request a replacement visa, the expired visa needs to be surrendered at the Embassy with a letter explaining the reasons why the visa was not used.

omg. i hate to file and see my self again waiting for visa if il surrender it when its expired. i hope my daughter got her approval quickly. as what ive heard, its quicker when the mother is already approved and got her visa. is this true?
