Honestly, I have 8 big birthday parties when my mother alive, but when she died, my birthday party died too! Everyone in my town know my birth date. Anyway, I'm not into parties, but I get a lot of invitations in Philippines when I still reside there. Even here in US, I still have invitations from my fellow Filipinas I just met. Honestly, I'm not comfortable celebrating party with new people I just met. Also, I don't know why they're comfortable to invite me they just met me. However, I tend to please myself. I'm not into birthday party because I'm too old for it. I enjoy going out and chit chatting with women.

My wife and I have discussed the differences between the PI and the states when it comes to this topic. She is amazed that the kids in the states would dare speak back or even disagree with a parent. Celebrations...

Americans - less people, less often, limited to birthdays and the major holidays, and it's over in a couple of hours.

Filipinos - everyone and their brother shows up, happens nearly every week because somebody's getting married, their baby's getting baptized or it's someone's birthday, and the party will last until you unplug the videoke machine.

American spouses, your thoughts?

Pinoy/Pinays, have you noticed the differences?

last if store is closed for beer and tanduay!!!
