Hello

I am so confused in what's happening next. I have received my NOA2 about two weeks ago. I have not called NVC and see if my case been forwarded to embassy in my fiancee country. I will call monday. I was just told that, after the embassy receives the paperwork from NVC, that the embassy will sent me the instructions back here to US. Is this true, if so how long does it take to receive these instructions. Also can my fiancee pick up her packet three from the embassy, or does it have to mailed to her. ( the mailing system is unreliable in her country). Thank you in advance.

You are talking Packet 3 this is an embassy/consulate discussion, moving this.

Typically the embassy or consulate will send out an instruction packet to the benificiary some time after NVC sends the case to them.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

right, your fiance should receive a packet. The address you listed as hers on the 129f is where they will send it.

good luck

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Hey I am right there with you, do we call the NVC? And if so how and will they see if they have sent packet 3 yet?

Send an email to the consulate and ask using the NVC case number, calling will cost money. Allow 2-3 weeks for then to receive it and enter it in their system. They will send packet 3 to your fiancee but you can download it. My wife already has her green card and the packet 3 has yet to arrive at her flat in Donetsk. Note to other VJers, download packet 3 when you file the petition and get everything ready. We had everything ready before the NOA2 except medical. You will save weeks and as soon as I got he email that our petition arrived, I grabbed the phone and called for an interview.

They will also send "packet 4" (maybe) after you make an interview date. You don't need it. It is a confirmation letter with everything they told you on the phone when you made the appointment. Have a pen and paper handy. Either you or your fiancee can make the interview appointment. Have your NVC case number and HER passport number in front of when you call. You can tell them you are coming also (if you plan to) but again, not necessary, you CAN go whether you tell them or not.
