Thank you guys for all the advices for sure I will surely follow your advice. Well, there is no place like home! But now, I am beginning to accept that MI State is my new home now. I have a very loving, caring, sweet fiance and he is always there for me through rough times especially when I feel sad. WIth him I can able to combat all this trials of adjustment.

Belated Happy Valentines Day! God bless us all!

Hello, VJ Friends! It`s been a while that I haven`t posted here. I`m finally back now. I`m now here in USA (Michigan) we arrived here with fellow (VJ Friends- Sweetybabe) she was in Chicago right now. I`m happy and contented that I `m with my fiance now soon to be husband on (March 28) our wedding date. I`m bless to have a good sister in law and parent`s in law although I haven`t meet them since they are in Tennessee they make sure to always call me here in the house. Asking if I`m fine here , if I am not feeling cold and If I have something to eat that I like, because I don`t like much the food here, they are salty, sweet and all processed food.

When I arrived here my fiance had 4 days leave from his work and now that he is back to work last Monday. I`m always alone here in the house. My companion is our only dog Abby. A nice boxer dog , always guarding me and protecting me here whenever she heard something diff. she would always bark and after would go back to her seats.

I `m just one week here to be exact today. But the weather has been affecting me here, Michigan is a cold state and I would probably say that I don`t like the cold season here. I have few photos from the snow just to show to my family in Philippines what kind of environment I have here. But frankly I am not really enjoying the weather here.I don`t have high tolerance in cold season.Every time we go out I would always wear a thick high thermal jacket and the car should always be in a warm temperature. Nothing to do but to accept what`s really in store for me here. I feel sad being alone here . I do a lot of computer thing not to get bored but sometimes would walk around the house and look out the window outside. Sad thing, no people in the streets. It`s gloomy always. It`s a total change for me from culture, weather, environment, food, language, etc. I love my fiance and being here is a big sacrifice for me. How I wish I can go back soon there in Philippines and enjoy the tropical weather with my family and friends.I miss my family and friends there! Oh, I love Philippines!

Until here! and for those who are still in the Philippines. Enjoy every minute of your life there with you family and friends. You will miss that if you are already here in the USA.

Good luck to those who are still waiting and keep it up!

More power to all VJ community and May God bless us all!

Hi there

I would agree to what you said about adjusting there in the states.i will soon be there -just waiting for my visa delivery. My interview was last feb 13 and it all went well ..ALL MY PRAYERS WERE ANSWERE..I know that we will all miss our life here -our family -our careers we left behind-the comfort zones of having a maid and a driver here and a mom who adores us. I will surely miss that but as I have told my students and my dean in the college of nursing that I am leaving behind a rewarding career in the university to be with the man that I truly adore and he is all worth the sacrifices that I will do and I think whethere we are married to a filipino or american who lives there -what matters is the CHOICE THAT WE HAD TO BE WITH THE MAN WE ADORED AND WE PRAYED FOR..It is all going to be fine with us all women who joined and who will joined oour husband and future partner to start a lifetime of togetherness..I just want to share my life verse...found in JEREMIAH 29:1111 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future...I always utter this everytime i feel sad or upset...GOD KNOWS WHAT IS REALLY BEST FOR US...

Maybe ask your husband if you can move down South. I can't bear the cold either which is strange considering I came from the UK. The weather has always been a comforter when I had raging homesickness like you have. You poor thing, I remember it well.

I have a friend in Michigan she's in Clarkston I don't know how far is that from your place. There's big Pinoy community there too.She said its really cold there but she is getting used to it she said so I'm sure you will too after couple of months. I agree with the other posters it's a natural feeling since you just arrived just keep yourself busy and occupied.I did cross-stiching before when I first got here and even until now it's fun!
