Hey all, I have been reading the book "Fiance and marriage Visas" by Ilona Bray and she said that marriage plans are a good thing to have when you fill out your I129F AND when go to the interview, such as what place you are going to marry at, catering receipts, time etc..is this truly necessary? To have to plan the whole wedding before you even know that you are going to be accepted seems a bit like jumping the gun to me...did anyone do this or should I just ignore this?

Never heard this - not even sure it would be possible for many folks since you never really know when you'll get the visa (kind of hard to set a wedding date/plans). The only thing close to this would be your letters of intent (to marry) - which you should craft for the initial petition, and again for the interview.

agreed, i dont know, i thought it was really weird when I read it... was just a little  for sure. They said contact wedding caterers that can have open dates so you can switch it around if you have to, but everyone that hasnt even taken this step has still been approved for the K-1 right? Seems like a pretty non important step for the I 129F and interview as like you said, its a bit hard to plan when you are not sure when....Thanks for the post :)

None of this is needed. You need to have a "plan" (intent) to marry this person within 90 days of arrival. Our plan was to get married by the JP at the lakefront, but we moved it inside because it was windy! See, plans change, intent does not. :) As long as you sign the "letters of intent" it is all you need.

None of that is needed. At the interview they may ask you what your wedding plans are (they asked my fiance) but hopefully by the time you have your interview date, you have plans made. Even if it's just going to the courthouse.

We did include receipts from my wedding dress and our rings for him to bring to the interview- but they never even asked to see any of our additional evidence.
