I just hopped on the scale...another pound down :thumbs: and I'm not doing anything for it. At least it's not that I'm wanting to lose weight. Our house, two kids and a sick husband are enough for now...oh and a lab who wants to walk a lot.

I won't weigh myself again until Tuesday so am hoping I will be down some more. I just need to low my fat grams intake. Guess it will have to be more beans

Congratulations to all the losers :). Seriously, good job. I would consider what Amber is saying though, she's a smart cookie when it comes to things nutritional (and other things too of course :))

I have to ask, what happens after these 'contests' to lose weight? Do people stick with their new healthier life styles, or just heave a sigh of relief and return to their old habits?

I kept off 20 of the 25 lbs I lost last year. I think I gained those pounds before this years contest (it was the holidays).

I lost about 25 pounds last year - it took me quite a long time (can't remember exactly...9 months maybe?). Portion control and lots of exercise. It was very slow and sometimes frustrating to watch others crash diet and lose as much in a week as I did in 2 months, but I knew it would pay off in the end. It's been several months now and I've managed to keep it off by continuing my exercise routine. I don't have to do much in terms of diet.

Congratulations to anyone who has managed to lose weight and keep it off!

Slow and steady is definitely best - that is what I am telling myself now that my weight loss is drastically slowing down. ;)

I managed to lose 11 pounds before Christmas but since then I've been hovering around the same weight. I'm still fairly careful with my food but I'm not getting the hour and a half daily walks I was. I'd ideally like to lose another 30 (at the very least, if I lose another 11 I shall no longer be 'officially' overweight.
