My hubby(US Citizen and member of Armed Forces) and I got married last September 22,2008...but he never filed for K3 Visa coz he's too preoccupied with work and was deployed in Afghanistan. Last December they moved back to Tennessee but never filed it bcoz he doesnt have the NSO Marriage Contract. Visited me last January 27..and Now filing for the K3 Visa after the Valentine's Day (oh!btw, just wake me up when Valentine's Day is over!LOL)

Next week will be the Initial process, he will be submitting all the docs to NVC (correct me if im wrong)

That would be the start of my journey.....well,i hope it wont take years to have my visa, coz im not really sure yet if im pregnant..but if i am, it might have big possibility that I'll be having the baby here....and worst,it might took longer for us to be reunited.

Oh well! I'm all surrending it all up to GOD, its HIS call.......

The I-130 petition is submitted to a PO Box in Chicago, not NVC. I encourage your husband to study the guides here as well as to consider the CR1 path instead of the K3 path. This is done by submitting only one petition instead of following the I-130 with an I-129F for spouse.

yes, the petetions will go to the chicago lockbox listed in the instructions.

do have him study the guides here and read the instructions very carefully.

It's a hard road, but worth the end result.

There are plenty of people here you will be helpful and supportive, we can all relate to how you feel

good luck!

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Look at it as a part of life's experience. Enjoy the ride, soon you will be looking back wondering what all the hub-bub was about. Good luck  Did you read the guide for K-3 here on VJ, it is very helpful.
