We need to anticipate this ahead of time because my husband works offshore and we are about to file my AOS and my question is, during biometrics does the petitioner needs to undergo finger printing too? Are they going to give us fixed schedule or can we call to schedule? Second question, during interview will they do the same thing? Will they schedule our interview or can we call and schedule it? Hope you can help us guys..Thanks

At the biometrics they take fingerprints. Because Claudeth was approved without an interview I don't have any information about the phase. Good luck

No, only the beneficiary needs to be fingerprinted, so the USC doesn't need to show up. As to the AOS process, you will be assigned an interview date and time, and it is necessary for both of you to be present. We had two months' notice for the interview appt and so we could plan for that well in advance. It was about six months after biometrics.

If your husband is deployed, different rules for attending interview.

There should be some information on the USCIS website.

Hi sib!My husband is not in a military but he works there a government contractor so i assumed the exceptions for those who are in a military will not be applicable for us.sure hope it is though...

god bless

For the biometrics appointment, you can also do a walk in, anytime, anywhere. Our appt was in the south florida area, but as we were in texas, we went to the local ACS office in the houston area, and got it done a few days before the scheduled appt.

My wife had her biometrics taken last Wednesday, and before she left she was told, "In 30 or 32 days, you will receive . . . " something in the mail.

Svetlana doesn't remember what they said we will be receiving, and I do not know what it would be.

It's my understanding that the next correspondence we receive will be notice of AOS interview (which likely will be several months away).

Does anyone know what we may or may not receive in "30 or 32 days"?
