'Tis was a temporary glitch in my subroutines. Lucky I caught it to cringe. HAL 9000 does not believe serious illnesses should be made fun of.

Hawking's 'god' is more or less the same as Einsteins - in other words, it's a device to illustrate that which we do not yet know or to describe the sum total of the universe. What he, and Einstein most emphatically do NOT believe in, is a personal god, one with whom one can have a relationship, one who has a 'special place in his heart' for each and every soul here on earth and one who will separate the chaff from the wheat come death. To think otherwise is to completely misunderstand the science of physics.
