In his best-selling book "A Brief History of Time", physicist Stephen Hawking claimed that when physicists find the theory he and his colleagues are looking for - a so-called "theory of everything" - then they will have seen into "the mind of God".

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Yep, one place is in his book Brief History. He also stated the same in an interview on PBS when they were reviewing his life work. Ironically he was being interviewed by Carl Sagan. ;) (IIRC...)

Science=the straining of men to figure out the laws of the universe which have been in motion since "the beginning" (won't say time, since time was also created by men) ;)

Science=generally generates more questions than answers

Religion=oversimplifying of the laws so people can be herded by someone with their hand on a big button of doom, yay!

And wow, I though good ol Hawking had already passed on to meet the big scientist in the sky.... ?

Peace,

Mariah

Stephen Hawkings' latest theory is that the gravitational force of a black hole is so great, that intelligence cannot escape it. Leaves some questions to be answered, is there actually intelligence in a black hole? Actually, I prefer Johnny Carsons' definition of a black hole, something you can stick your thingy in.

The other notion is that gravity has an attraction to intelligence and can suck it in. If there is any intelligence on this planet, it's on the surface of the earth where the effects of gravity are the greatest. Gravity decreases by the square of the distance when leaving the earth and decreases by a linear rate when going inward. So if gravity is sucking intelligence, it's being removed off the surface of the earth and being pull inward. Where does that leave us?

Gravity is not constant over the surface of the earth, far more powerful in such places as Washington DC.

Wow, how very inappropriate.

but, it still made you laugh.

Made me laugh first... then cringe second at the insensitivity of making fun of a disease.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

agree..making fun of people with a disease and a condition is not funny...and shows a lack of empathy
