Pennsylvania Woman Allegedly Sells Neighbor's Dogs for $150

COLUMBIA, Pa. — A 27-year-old central Pennsylvania woman is accused of selling her neighbor's purebred dogs for $150.Brandi Anderson of Columbia says she found the dogs dirty and without tags and didn't know the owner. She maintains that she kept the two dogs for a few days, then sold them so they'd have a good home.

Police say she is charged with theft of lost property because she didn't take reasonable measures to find the dogs' owner.

Anderson wrote on her Internet ad offering the dogs for sale that she inherited the dogs from a deceased relative. She told police she fabricated that story because she didn't think people would want to buy strays.

Columbia is about 75 miles west of Philadelphia.

sounds like our local no kill shelter. People "find" dogs for them, and then they won't give them back to the rightful owners, even with proof of ownership. Two local dogs were actually stolen from people's yards, taken to the shelter, and not given back! eejits.

Ha, maybe the only time I wouldn't give into my wife, she wanted a Golden Retriever, just said, I wanted a family member, not a ####### that would leave you for a bit of food. But now she feels very secure when taking him for a walk, no one would dare approach her.

Personally I'm all for it . Dogs are a pest and neighbours dogs the worst sort of pest. Crapping and barking everywhere humbug !!!!!

We have three and I wish someone would steal them and well if they sell them ... good for them .

Whilst on the pet subject...Cats too... they are vermin also. We used to play skiddy moggy in Cyprus with the Bondo cats. The idea is, that just as your front wheels of your car is squashing the moggy (cat) you slam on the brakes and skid them as far as possible .

Got to be an art form after a while.

That is cruel as I am also a cat lover, the compromises a guy has to make when they get married, my wife doesn't like cats, and there is a myth that cats and dogs do not get along. On the other hand, my son's wife doesn't like dogs, so they have two cats. So my son comes here to play with my dog, and I go there to play with his cats.

What neither of us like is irresponsible pet owners, son cleans his litter box every night as my dog as his special spot in the yard for going. My problem is with my neighbors letting their dogs run free, where they come to my dog's spot and have a crapping party that I have to clean up after. Been quiet about that to keep peace in the neighborhood. I used a pellet gun when living out in the country, a sting on the butt would run stray dogs away and normally would not come back. Can't do that in the city, would get arrested if caught, but sure think about it.

Is anybody dumb enough to pay even 150 bucks for a AKC registered dog without the papers? Just too much postings about idiots on this board.

I can remember a friend in Calgary who had once told me "guess what pets I have" (mentioning that he had two)--dog and a cat.

Usually, two dogs (social animal) will get along fine (though one will likely dominate and the other submit). Two cats (few species of cat are social, and the domestic cat isn't one of the social species), unless of opposite (or opposite former***) gender...don't even try.

On dog and cat, thousands of cases of them sharing home with no issues.
