I think it is nearing three months with no news, touches or anything from CSC. My fiance has flown over to London and is living me while this is in processing. Have i anything to worry about at all? Are they naturally this slow?

Have you been following the stories about IMBRA? Everything has been pretty much on hold since March 6. Now that they are getting back into action and are going to send out RFEs, things should start moving again shortly. You will receive an RFE to fill out and return and then they will continue processing. Apparently CSC is normally the slowest service center. There are people who filed in January who are not affected by IMBRA who are unfortunately still waiting.

Enjoy being with your fiance during the processing - you are lucky to be able to do that. And don't worry - they are slow and it's normal.

Yes, but aren't those people going through extra security checks? That is what they told me when their congressman/senator got involved and they got an answer of what was taking so long. Well I would bet money that the California service center is done up til March 6 except for a FEW that need RFEs, are lost on someone's desk or need extra background checks. I saw 5 out of 5 petitions with Noa1s after March 1 and before March 6 with NOA2s on my last timeline search. I just wonder what they have been doing since they appproved these petitions. The dates these last 5 got their NOA2s were as follows: May 8, May 15, May 1, May 8, and May 10. That was a month ago. Best case senario: They continued to work on them and are only waiting for the RFE to appove them.<--------I wish. So I wouldn't be surprised to see NOA2 posted all over VJ soon after the RFEs. Of course this is a hope of mine and I don't want to get my hopes too high!

Your timeline indicates that you filed your petition in late March, correct? Every single petitioner who filed after March 6 has been on hold while USCIS tried to figure out how to comply with IMBRA. Every single petitioner who filed after March 6 is affected by the new law. That's why there haven't been any approvals. The people with approvals in May filed BEFORE IMBRA took effect and their petitions did not require the additional information on their possible criminal background because IMBRA was not in effect when they applied.

As soon as the RFEs are received by petitioners and returned, they will continue processing and hopefully all of the March filers will get their approvals fast, including you and me!

Sorry - I got confused and thought I responded to the original poster.

Yup - I agree. I would think the only thing CSC has been doing since this "stoppage" is processing other kinds of visa applications (I don't know what else they handle) and opening fed ex packages for new K1 applications. Which would hopefully mean that when they receive our returned RFEs, they will be available to process them like wildfire!

Well I went thru CSC and it took 92 days for I-129f approval, (and 188 days from filing to interveiw) and that was PRE-IMBRA..so no they aren't that fast normally, even prior to the new change..so I wouldn't start panicking yet.

Hi Again guys,

Thanks for the feedback. I am starting to worry a little now. Your replies make it seem as if I am GOING to get an RFE. When we sent off our application form we made sure we added as much information as possible to prevent getting an RFE.

Some of the things we included are:

Airline boarding passes (In excess of 40)

Hotel and flight reservations and itineraries with BOTH our names on them

FUTURE Travel arranagements for summer and winter holidays.

Airline milleage breakdown and statements

Pictures of our tattoos that we got of each others names

10+ pictures of us in London, LA and Paris together.

Pictures of engagement ring

5+ Telephone bills over 2 years showing in excess of $1000 on each bill of calls between us.

Credit card statements to prove we were in the same place at the same time.

Copy of both our passports higlighting all customs stamps (UK and USA).

Copy of our university transcripts to show we attended university in london at the same time, which is where we met.

IF they do send me an RFE, what the hell could i send them that i havent already sent? There is literally nothing?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Sometimes they lose things - or the more pc version 'items become detached due to the large volume of applications dealt with' so they ask you for things you sent already; if they do don't bother arguing just re-send.

Sometimes, despite our best efforts, we forget to sign things (so many forms, its easy to miss one) so you can get RFE'd for that as well..

But I still think you are worrying too soon..the average NON IMBRA time for CSC is between 90-120 days from NOA1, and WITH Imbra its likely to be a bit more than that.

YES YOU ARE GOING TO GET AN RFRE

I cannot make this any clearer for you.

You filed AFTER March 6.

ALL applications filed after March 6 are affected by IMBRA

Every single petitioner - male & female, met through a marriage broker or not, has been waiting on hold for the USCIS to get their act together and produce the form for the RFE to request information from the USC petitioners about their "possible criminal background"

CSC's previous timelines don't have anything to do with this.

Your petition isn't going anywhere until you receive the RFE, fill it out, return it and then continue to process.

Could be affected by IMBRA, which it looks by your NOA2 date thats what it is.

OR security checks. I went through 6 months of these checks, all worth it through:)

Hi Again guys,

Thanks for the feedback. I am starting to worry a little now. Your replies make it seem as if I am GOING to get an RFE. When we sent off our application form we made sure we added as much information as possible to prevent getting an RFE.

Some of the things we included are:

Unbelievable.

You can see by our timeline that we have an approval, and at the moment the Helsinki embassy is transferring our case details to the Bucharest one.

This is what we included as "evidence":

1) Photocopy of beneficiary's passport pages containing 1 B2 Visa stamp for previous visit and personal data.

2) 1 Photograph, with date stamp on the back, of both of us with my parents in front of an Xmas tree

3) 2 *untranslated* documents in Finnish from the Magistrate, showing my address and her address, respectively, which together prove a common address for 4.5 months.

We each prepared a cover letter, each one citing each piece of evidence, and containing a single paragraph indicating our intent to marry. These were signed by us, respectively, at the bottom.

These pieces of evidence, in addition to all requested forms, and a cashier's check for 170 USD, were posted to the TSC on 7-Feb. They were received on 16-Feb, and NOA1 was dated 22-Feb. NOA2 was datestamped 22-May on the document, so our case had no RFE and exactly 3 months.

We were amazed to see that you (and a few others on this site) included so many pages of extraneous information in your petition. Perhaps "less is more" sometimes if the evidence is clear. Of course, I have read enough RFE reasons on this site to believe that, for sure, it depends on the mood of the Adjudicator!

For those affected by this IMBRA business... good luck!

Best regards.
