Yeah it is a requirement to have the I-129F packet either a copy or original copies. We don't have any of it! What should I do? Can someone please tell me is this a def requirement?

Does your fiance have the electronic copies of the files... this will hold all of the information that you will be required... only lacking the signatures and dates from your original submission!

my husband had a copy of the I-129F that he mailed to me for the interview but it was not needed.

In France they don't need it. They have the original 129F which was sent by USCIS to the embassy, your folder follows you !

There is one thing you do need. With the 129 that you send off when you start the process you send COPIES of the documents like birth certificate, divorces, any legal papers. When you look at the guidelines, it reminds you to send the ORIGINALS (which can mean certified copies) of those papers. I therefore do have a copy of the I-129F but just so my fiancee has reference. Those certified copies of other legal documents will be needed in my opinion. I haven't talked to anyone that was asked for them, but if someone is asked for them, you better have them. The guidelines on this site going from NOA2 to Consulate do leave a little bit unanswered. Examples:

1. Does the fiancee need an exact copy of the I-129F sent originally.

2. Where do the certified copies go, with the first I-129, the copy that might be sent to the fiancee in (1) above. or just have them in a folder separate?

I have read over many posts and I get answers to these questions that cover the range of possible answers. My solution is to send a copy of the I-129F and an additional folder of "CERTIFIED COPIES" That should do.
