Hi.. this site is great..

I was wondering if anyone ever lost their passport after recieving their visa and was able to obtain another one... what did you do to get the embassy to reissue the visa?

Police report has been filed already, and I know there is a 15/day waiting period before DFA will start to process the papers for another passport... and it seems that DFA Manila is the only one that will do 7/day expidite..

I'm more interested in what the embassy will require before reissueing another visa... medical is still good for another 4/months.. and still have the visa packet, just the passport w/visa is missing.. I'm sure they can use the stuff that is in the visa packet if they need to..

Any insight would greatly appreciated..

Thanks..

You would have to get a new passport from the issuing agency and then go back to the embassy for the visa. Did you have a CFO stamp? You would need that too.

I'm working on gettn another passport, DFA Manila is a pain for processing lost passport, but they are the only ones that do expedite. My tickets have alrdy been rebooked, it's ganna be cutting it close to when I recieve it and not sure if it's a 1-3 day deal of getting another visa issued. More concerned with what the embassy will say about the lost passport and if it's enough for them to not issue me another visa. I called the embassy twice and got 2 different stories or was told 2 different things to do.

One said as long as my medical and everything else is current, pay the visa fee again, and to come in with the new passport to Window X, and talk to someone and then they will see if qaulify for another visa?? I was thinking, do I have to requalify cus I lost it, is it like another interview where I can be denied? Hope not..

Second time I called to get clarification, the lady said to just come with my passport and I will get instructions of what I need to do, and not to pay the visa fee, cus they might not require it??

Anyone else gone thru this? or is it just as simple as jasman0717 stated, which I hope it will be :(

Thanks for the info so far :)
