Hard time to get oath ceremony rescheduled

Hello, my name is Ovi and I am in the process of naturalization through the N400 Process. I had everything done in Chicago, approved after the interview and scheduled for a oath ceremony in Chiacgo on August 8th 2008. I moved to Dallas on July 1st so because of my job I could not leave a second time in the same month for the oath ceremony because the interview was August 5th and I would take a risk of loosing my job if I left again. I did the address change and confirmed that it was changed correctly through an infopass appointment, where I also found that my paperwork is at the Texas service center since September 20th, 2008. I have been waiting almost 6 months now to get this oath ceremony rescheduled and they are telling me that there is nothing else to do on my case, no backround checks or anything like that.

I wanted to know if anybody went through the same problem and if they know of anything I can do to get this ceremony set. I have gone to the infopass service a few times with the same answer - "cannot do anything until my file is sent from the Texas service center. If we had it here we could schedule you right now". I called the service number and filed a "service request" with no avail. Also, I have contaced the congressman that represents my area and asked him if he could help but I have not heard anything from him.

It is very hard for me to wait so long because I have been waiting for this citizenship for a very long time so that my fiancee could finally come here and we could start our life together.

My parents went through the same process and they were citizens in 5 months.

If you have any ideas please let me know, I am willing to try anything.

Thank you.

I'd say your case is an excellent candidate for intervention by your representative. Find out who s/he is, visit her/his office and plead with her/him to contact whatever service center is handling your application. Best of luck!

Hi Ovi,

You should approach one of the TX Senators for assistance, since your Congressman hasn't done anything - here's a link to John Cornyn's site with the form for Immigration assistance http://cornyn.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?...FederalAgencies

Good luck with getting it resolved!
