I am confused in what differentiations to put in my I-129f packet in regards to the "proof of having met w/in 2 yrs" section and the "proof of ongoing relationship" section...

Obviously proof of having met would include passport tickets, pics, and other primary sorts of evidence ect.. but what sort of info should distinctively be in the "ongoing relationship" sector of the I-129f packet? Should ongoing relationship include some skype chat/call logs, more pics, and so forth?

Also, I know they we are supposed to send an identical I-129f package to our fiance as well... if we included original pictures in the USCIS sent I-129f packet, should we also include original pictures in the fiance or can we simply duplicate pages w/original pictures by using copier?

Any clarifications would be greatly helpful. Thank you :thumbs:

That's a free-for-all question with a lot of opinions, but the "proof of ongoing relationship" is most important at the K-1 visa interview. You won't need a lot with the I-129f (though it's not a bad idea to err on the side of excess).

Typical evidence includes things like call logs, letters mailed (I just showed the fronts of a lot of cards we sent each other, with the postmarked envelopes), pictures, even a statement from a third party.

Contrary to popular belief, the USCIS doesn't want to read the mushy contents of your love letters or chat sessions.

Love timeline:

??? 2003 -------> Started chatting regularly, became good friends

Nov 2004 -------> Fell in love

Jan 2006 -------> Met (in person) for first time

Apr 2008 -------> Wedding

Jun 2008 -------> Closed on house together

K-1 timeline:

Jun 11, 2007 -------> I-129f sent

Mar 20, 2008 -------> Visa in hand

AoS/EAD/AP timeline:

Apr 26, 2008 -------> Wedding

Apr 28, 2008 -------> Filed (forms mailed)

Apr 30, 2008 -------> Forms received by USCIS

May 06, 2008 -------> Cashed check posted to account

May 10, 2008 -------> NOA1 received for EAD, AP, and AoS

May 10, 2008 -------> Biometrics appt date received

May 28, 2008 -------> Biometrics for EAD & AoS

Jun 11, 2008 -------> AoS case transferred to CSC

Jul 05, 2008 -------> AP Approval

Jul 09, 2008 -------> EAD approval

Jul 14, 2008 -------> EAD and AP received

Jul 17, 2008 -------> AoS approved (card production ordered)

Sending too much with the I-129f will not hurt anything, they do not care and will put most of it in the recycle bin, but better to have "too much gun" as they say.

Here was our answer to question 18, nearly verbatim:

"I was returning from a visit to Odessa, Ukraine on September 19, 2007 and had a layover in Prague, CZ Republic. I met Alla in the airport terminal while waiting in line for a bus ticket to downtown Prague."

Without pulling out the file, I can tell you that is it within one or two words. I attached one photo of us together in a restaurant in Prague (could have been anywhere) my passport stamps and boarding passes for that trip. That is "proof of having met in person in the last two years" for the I-129f. We were approved without RFEs in 58 days.

For the K-1 visa interview I brought emails, photos, western union receipts, gift receipts, travel documents for 5 visits (or was it 6, I do nt remember) and telephone bills. They looked at 4 photos when we turned in our documents and nothing else. We received our visa in a "no questions asked" interview.

But remember, better to have it and not need it.

The above person is correct, it's no biggie for the I-129F. The ongoing relationship is asking whether you're still dating since you sent in your petition. For your reference, (remember my fiance is Irish too) we sent in 3 photos, plane ticket confirmations, and scans of our passports (I think this is the most important as it's definite proof) and it was approved with no RFEs in 96 days.

For our embassy packet that I sent though, since he visited me while our I-129F was being processed we additionally included his new boarding passes as well, and he sent me a mushy letter specifically for the purpose of this proof, and of course he'll have his passport with him as proof too. Your fiancee should take a complete copy of your I-129F, (we used duplicates of the photos, I wouldn't do photocopies) plus your financial support packet, and more ongoing proof. She'll have to have her medical results and police report at that point too. The police report took about 4 weeks for us so she should go ask for that ASAP. Also the guards sent my fiance on a wild goose chase to get his report so she should expect a lot of blank looks before she finds the person she needs to talk to. She can also go ahead and get her medical at one of the 3 doctors listed, there's no need to wait. One of the embassy reviews has them listed, they're still correct. Tell her to go ahead and get 3 official copies of her long form birth cert. too.

Edit: Forgot to say, we also included a typed/hand signed and dated letter from each of us stating how we met, and another stating our intent to marry. One each from each of us, so four total.

thank you so much for the replies, this information is extremely helpful. Hxxrmonkey, in regard to the medical examination, do you know where I can search the embassy reviews that list the 3 doctors? and also just to confirm it doesn't matter when she has her medical examination done, as long as it is within one year? I had the idea that it was done at/near the embassy right before the interview..

Thanks again this forum is amazing :thumbs:

Here's the link to the Embassy page with the docs on it http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...&cty=Dublin

Re: the doctor - it doesn't matter when it happens. The packet 3 is the official notice to go get it but you don't have to take anything with you or anything like that. So she can go any time. It's ok if she wants to put it off a while since you haven't even sent your petition but I'd suggest as soon as you get your NOA2 she make plans to go. My fiance went today in Cork. Basically you have to go one day to get your blood test and xray, then go back after a few days to get your blood results and whatever shots you need. And don't worry if she doesn't have her shot records, mine doesn't (lost in a fire or something) and the doc is totally cool with working it out from the scars on his arm.

And it's definitely not done at/near the embassy and DEFINITELY NOT right before the interview. I mean there are 2 docs in Dublin, yes, but you NEED to go plenty of time before your interview in case there's a delay with getting your results. I think the best plan is to go ASAP after you get your NOA2.

For more embassy stuff just type in dublin embassy in the google search on the top of this page and check out the first few results you get.

Also FYI you should start working on your financial affidavit as soon as your send in your petition cause it can take a while, especially if you're going to get a co-sponsor. You'll need your past 2 or 3 tax returns, past pay stubs, a letter from your bank, and in packet 3 they send the 2007 version of the I-134, not the 2010 version. The difference is major, 2007 requires a notary, 2010 doesn't. I filled them both out and had the 2007 version notarized, just to be safe.

There is no "proof of ongoing relationship" requirement in the I-129f, this is for the interview and it is where you present your evidence that you have an ongoing relationship, like something happening from the time you filed the I-129f until you go to the interview. Emails, telephone bills, travel documents, photos, letters (if anyone still actually uses the post office) etc. all document that you have an "ongoing relationship". For the I-129f you need a brief description of your meeting in the last two years (one meeting in person is enough to describe) plus some evidence of that meeting. Photos supported by travel documents placing you (or her) at that place at that time will suffice. One paragraph, one photo and a passport stamp are enough to support "meeting within the last two years"
