Does the husband have some type of dementia? Were they on a fixed income? Did they have access to medical insurance? Was the wife afraid of going to the hospital.

Yes, this is horrendous and tragic and sad. But you have to wonder about the rest of the story. They were married for 52 years. Maybe I just want to believe the best in people, but I have a hard time accepting he just didn't care.

No wonder kids these days are so screwed up.

I didn't read about stuff like this happening 10 years ago. Did you?

If someone is going to sit here and deny a shift in attitude and culture towards others then they need a reality check. Hence the statement you mention.

How do you know whether incidents like this never happened before? Are basing it on what you hear or read about?
