Nothing much new here. Had a nice dinner last night with husband. Had delicious lamb ribs as an appetizer. The main course was disapointing, but ah well.

Going to a wedding of a childhood friend this weekend and I can already feel the jealousy jinn rearing it's ugly head. I want a wedding, a fancy dress, presents, custom M&Ms, the whole 9 yards. *sigh* The sunken garden better still be available when we get around to having one.

Well shoot! Hachemi did not get to finish his medical. They told him to come on Thursday at nine. So he traveled to Algiers and saw the Dr. today for the physical. And by the way the Dr is a lady. The xray clinic was open, but not the place to get vaccinations and blood work. So, now he has to go back on Monday. Suxs

Haha Jean, I'm sorry but I have to laugh about that job posting.

Amera, the advice you got from someone else on this thread is so right. DO NOT just send your resume and cover letter (you're sending cover letters right???) and wait for them to call you. Call them to follow up; ask them if they got your resume, tell them quickly why you're awesome and perfect for the job, and tell them you look forward to hearing from them.

OK I'm having a better day today than I was yesterday. Seeing all you girls on security checks reminds me how lucky we are just to be together. I hope your stupid clearances will be done soon.

And yes, I do think there must be an inordinate amount of nose-picking going on there.

A lot of the jobs I've found don't have phone numbers :( They just have e-mail, fax or addresses to send cover letters (yes I'm sending them) and resumes..... but the ones I find I will call. BTW I got a call today about one job! It's as a grassroots campaign organizer - she should call back tomorrow to discuss details etc with me - it looks like it might be a great job (that I KNOW I'm qualififed for). *fingers crossed*

Good luck to you! And a big yep yep to the phone number thing. A lot of prospective employers don't list their numbers. IF you actually even get a company name, you can look it up of course, but they like to be the ones holding the reins and its very frustrating.

I have not heard back on the position and I'm losing hope. Why do these people call so gung ho and then just leave you to rot????? Blah.
