Salam Allykum, I am going to file for my husband with the I-130. I am living in Morocco with him but i am going to file now with a US address. When the petition gets approved it is usually six to seven months. At this time I will have met the residency requirement in Morocco for DCF. Will this enable me to call the Embassy in Casa and let them know my petition has been approved and i have met their residency requirement, can they give my husband his interview and get everything transfered to them immediately? I hope i made this understandable?

Thanks in Advance, sweetcitywife

Hi,

If you apply in the US you will have to go through the whole visa process in US and only interview will happen in Morocco.

Another option for you would be to get the Moroccon residency and file for DCF after fulfilling the residency requirement.

Good luck

All in all, if you can wait a bit I would just go the DCF route. I do not know if the transfer is possible; but it might be! Have you emailed Casa with your question? Might be a good idea to do so.

You either do DCF or file from the US. You can't do a combination of both or transfer files here and there. Either way you must wait the residency requirements for DCF then file the I-130, get approved then get an interview, or file from the US, get approved and then get the interview in Morocco. I waited 11 months more or less via DCF. Email the Consulate and ask them specific questions they are good about answering you. It may take 2 or 3 days but they are helpful.
