We got approved at our interview in December, pending the transfer of the original K1 file from the NSC (NVC?). The friendly official (whose name we forgot to note down), told us that everything was great and he would approve us pending the receipt of the K1 file which he had requested be sent. According to him the file was in the mail and would be with him by the end of that week (first week of December). He told us to look for the GC in the mail by the end of that month at the latest.

We left, overjoyed. However no case status changes online (only a touch a few days after the interview), and no GC in the mail. The first week of January, we decided to go with an info pass to inquire about the status. We found out that the file hadn't yet been sent from the NSC (NVC?). Seemed odd considering that the Immigration officer who had interviewed us, had assured us that the file was in the mail. With no recourse, we requested that the file be requested again. A month passed and we went with an infopass to inquire again, to find that the file was still not there. Apparently the IO looking into our case couldn't even determine it was an AOS based on a K1 visa. She agreed to send in another request, and made a note of our issue.

I called their AOS line this morning to find out that there has been no movement, and the file has still not moved from the NSC (NVC?). The official seemed to not know why it hasn't budged from the NSC(NVC?), and when I asked what can be done, was silent. I asked whether we should come by with an infopass to request that another request be registered, he hastily added "Oh I could do that". He told me to check within a few weeks to see if the file is with them yet.

We really don't quite know how to dislodge that file from the NSC(NVC), without becoming constant pains. Seems all our requests and their requests are coming to a naught. Any thoughts/suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Cheers
