I know necrotica has a rat and Marilyn has a hamster, but does anyone else have any unconventional pets? I mean besides a cat and dog.

I was thinking of getting a chinchilla, and am currently reading all about them and doing my research. They seem like the perfect pet for us. It was either that or a sugar glider but sugar gliders seem to have more of a temper and are higher maintenance.

I used to have 2 large african land snails basically giant snails... but they died... well Anna died and then Reep Roop died a few weeks later, I think of a broken heart. :(

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

I used to keep rats, but when I get to the US I'm getting a ferret and a few chickens.

I would have loved to be able to have a ferret, but they are illegal as pets in California :(

I've always wanted a miniature potbellied pig.... I think they are so cute, and you can train them to use a litter box  but I don't think our landlord would be too keen on that, so I'll wait until we buy a home LOL

I used to keep rats, but when I get to the US I'm getting a ferret and a few chickens.

I would have loved to be able to have a ferret, but they are illegal as pets in California :(

Same here. What makes it worse is that my mom has a cousin in Montana that breeds them :crying:

I had a ball python, but that didn't last too long. He tried to eat my mother's cat. I've had Jackson Chameleon's, and they aren't real good pets. They are easily stressed out and they have a very stringent diet. They also don't really like to be held too much. I had an iguana who was an incredible pet. You just need to get them when they are young and socialize them. I also had an emperor scorpion. Bad pet, he liked to sting, but it wasn't very painful when he did.
