Hey guys, I have a serious problem I think, help me with the advice, please. I am out of States since July and I read somewhere that my card is expired now, is that true? my card expires only in 10 years, what should I do? to buy the ticket and being deported afterwards?

More info would be helpful. Are you talking about a green card? What kind of card and how long was you here prior to leaving?

Yes, I am talking about the green-card, I got last June and in July I went to visit my parents, but under some family circumstances I stayed longer and I now I am in two minds...

You either have a two year green card, or a 10 year green card in which case both would still be valid. If you've been gone for more than 6 months however, you will need a reentry permit to come back to the US and this will affect the time it takes now for you to nautralize.

If you have a new passport, it is one of those electronic kind isn't it? When swiped at the borders, it will have all the entry, leaving information on it I believe.

Since I last posted, I've read some other posts, and it would appear that up to a year you can still reenter the US with your GC, so since it's been seven month? since you left, you should still be okay for returning to the US without a re-entry permit I believe.

If still uncertain you should read the state website and see what the rules are if no one here can answer your question.
