MIT Students Turn Internet Into a Sixth Human Sense -- Video

By Kim Zetter icon_email.gifFebruary 05, 2009 | 3:59:35 PMCategories: TED Conference

LONG BEACH, California -- Students at the MIT Media Lab have developed a wearable computing system that turns any surface into an interactive display screen. The wearer can summon virtual gadgets and internet data at will, then dispel them like smoke when they're done.

They learned recently that cellphone makers soon plan to release cellphones with projectors integrated in them, which will simplify their system even more.

Hello hello hello mindless cattle? The future of internet searches is before you and not one comment. Did anyone check the link with the videos? If not here is another link http://www.behance.net/Gallery/Future-of-I...e-version/59175 this one is with still photos. I'm so glad no one gives a care about the advancement of technology in our society and the impact and changes it is having. The chip was never meant to be implanted in all of us. It could be in our cell phones and everyone would demand it to run their whole life. Entire generations are being raised on this technology that is revolutionizing the way we communicate and interact with each other in our personal relationships. Or is it that no one is commenting because I am speaking to a population of peers that are already technological savvy and going with the flow like this is the bread they are feed and the water they are drinking? That's fine but then who is doing the driving behind the thinking?

Hello hello hello mindless cattle?

Mooooooooooo!

Well, I can't speak for everyone, but I didn't open this thread until just now.

Anyhoo...looks cool. But I can't get too excited about this sort of technology. Just seems unnecessary to me.
