I have a question about the DS 230. My beneficiary has been out of his country several times. He had a tourist visa which was only good for 6 months. Since it was only good for 6 months he had to go back to his home country before the visa ends. And for the past few years, he's been doing the 6 months tourist visa.

In the DS230, it says there that you need a police certificate from the place that you have lived for at least 6 months since you turned 16.

My question is does my beneficiary needs a police certificate from the other country although he was only in a tourist visa?

if so, how can he get one if he is in his home country?

Well i think you answered your self on that. if his tourist visas have been for only 6 months at a time the requirement wouldn't apply, because he didn't exceed 6 months at anyone time. that would be how i would interpret it. Hopefully someone else will give you more info.
