Wow, so condescending......judging others also so very islamic...

i havent seen anyone being judgmental yet.

People seem to be extra sensitive when they are told its not the "right way" or whatever.

But, i havent read any judgments.

I think using words like "wow" and "amazing" do give off that impression. Maybe that's not what was intended, but the sarcasm tends to make things sound pretty judgmental IMO. It's always about the way you phrase things.

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

so expense, convenience, and sheikhs with bad intel are all it takes to sway some people. that's pretty amazing. i feel like such a martyr now. :P

Hmmm reads as pretty judgmental but that's nothing new from the source...

bolding a portion of a sentence i wrote does not magically change what i meant. i said right away that my intention was not to be judgmental of the people themselves who came to those conclusions, but how they reached them.

again, not judgmental of other individuals. critical of how they reach their conclusions, absolutely.

I would love to have the recipe too!!! We had such a packed schedule when I was in Jordan I didn't get the chance to learn to cook anything... :crying: But hopefully I will get the chance to go back and do nothing but learn how to cook the food. :)

sorry guys, I dont have a magical spice recipe mix or anything... I just learned how to prepare and assemble. I found an AWESOME premixed shawarma spice at my fav arab market and i use it when i cook the chicken, and i put a tiny bit in the mayo.

so it's rather easy. This is the "pressed"(thats what i call it lol) kind, some ppl like the rolled one that looks like a burrito. The rest. that i love so much makes it in an opened pita with lotsa lettuce(its yummy but its not like "ours")

This is simple..chicken cooked with the spices, sliced pickles, french fries and mayo.

Amal said someone added one to the book, I bet it has the spice mix recipe :)

I'll see if Hanan will write it down for Yazied

  • 5 months later...

after reading many of these posts i was quite saddened. I realise that your other half is a muslim and maybe you are not, or you are new to islam and it may be difficult for you to understand or adjust to the halal meat topic. But in islam this is extremely important and if you love your other half surely you would care enough, not just be like "oh im sure he may change his mind when he sees meat at the supermarket is cheaper" or "he can find his own way to avoid the non-halal meat".

What a shame. Im sure if it was something really important in your life, you would want your spouse to be understanding, change things to make it easier for you and not expect you to go against your religion.
