lol I thought about that but then I realized I have no need to rush. I already booked flights to London, ON for the end of June, so I can go see family before I leave for the big ol US of A. So really lol anytime before or after that is fine..but I like to know things will be done. It would probably drive me nuts to sit on an approved visa for a few months anyways lol.

Here is something thats really concerning me and Jeremy says its fine but I'm very uncertain of it.

The I-134...

Jeremy is on social security disability for PTSD from the military. AKA he doesn't work. His mom, brother and him share a place with all of their income combined it is over the poverty line for the four of us. But sometimes I hear you cannot combine household income but then I found something on travel.state.gov that says you can. I'm just concerned that that is going to negatively effect the outcome of the visa. I'm not a bum, I intend to work and well I intend to get a good enough job so we can move out lol but obviously I'm going to need some time with that...I'm just scared.

I-751 file: 11/07/11

NOA1 date: 11/10/11

Biometrics: 11/30/11

Approval: 08/17/12

Hold what you got and maintain.

I'm not exactly sure how that works either... I don't think I've heard of anyone doing that. Did you try posing the question on one of the k-1 forums to see if anyone else has a similar experience? I just know that the I-134 specifically says "I derive an annal income of..." not "my household has an annal income of..." Not to make you worry, but its better to find out now then later! However, worse comes to worse, they will just send you back and ask you to find a cosponsor and resubmit the I-134 and evidence. It would only delay the visa by a couple weeks right?

But I know what you mean! My fiance lives with his parents still, so I get to live with the 3 of them until I get a job so we can save some money... He refuses to rent so we are saving for a house. That's hard to do after paying for the visa and a nice wedding.

IIRC, the co-sponsorship is usually on an individual basis...i.e. either is mother or brother would be the co-sponsor. I am pretty sure that his SS disability amount would not put you above the poverty line for (2) people. I could be wrong. If you then have a co-sponsor, you need to be above the poverty line for (3) people.

Beans I would really research all of the requirements for the co-sponsor as quickly as possible. If his mom or brother has a job that pays even a little about the minimum wage you should be above the 125% poverty line with no problems.

Best of luck to you.

Don't be nervous at all. It is the easiest part of the whole process.

After it is done, you will be thinking....I waited this long for this.....seriously!!!!

Just make sure you have all the documents they ask for and bring a good book, the whole interview process takes about 5 minutes, you wait in the waiting room longer. :)

What if they don't let me back in the Consulate to drop off the results! I know unlikely...but still...then what I have to go back on Thursday to pick up the Visa? *knocks on wood*

They will let you back into the Consulate after your medical and they will give you your Visa after you give them the paperwork. :)

When I was there a lady did just that. She had her interview two days before, her medical the same day as I (the day before my interview). She came back to the Consulate the next day and just dropped off her stuff and they gave her the Visa. She was nice enough to show us all who were waiting, what we were waiting for.

So just take your results from the medical, which you can pick up at 2 pm, and take them down to the Consulate. They allow you to pick up Visa's after 2:00 pm there. It will all work out and will be super easy.

I'm in the same boat...well ferry..lol. I JUST got my appointment letter...  for June 23rd, which is a Tues. Not sure if I should make my medical the week before, or for the day after. Thought I read somewhere there's one Wed. a month they don't do exams? Or was that the Consulate is closed? Anyway...I'm not sure what to do. I live on Vancouver Island..hence the ferry...and would rather one trip to the mainland. I faxed that I had the med done...would they get upset if I said it was the next morning?

Also...if anyone can answer..please, please....where can one stay that is close by the med and Consulate? I do know that they are walking distance apart. I don't know that area at all, and most of the friends that I know may live to far out of town to help me get there in time. ( 6:30 am comes early, especially when you should be there MUCH earlier than that!) I won't be driving myself, and have no idea at this point how I'm getting from the ferry to downtown anyways....yeesh!! They sure don't like to make this part easy do they??? LOL LOL ....
