The Democrat Party Mayor of Racine, Wisconsin, Gary Becker, was arrested last Tuesday for attempting to tryst with what he thought was a 14-year old girl he met online.

The girl was actually a police officer working as part of a sting operation started by the state Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation, after city workers discovered pornography on the Democrat Mayor's personal computer while fixing a problem on it.

Democrat Mayor Becker allegedly offered to meet the 14-year old girl and take her to a hotel to "have lots of fun". Police arrested the 51-year old Becker while he was shopping for lingerie for the girl at a local mall, whom police say he intended to meet there.

Police have charged Becker with attempted second-degree sexual assault of a child, child enticement and possession of child pornography, exposing a child to harmful materials, and using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime and misconduct in public office.

Workers at Racine City Hall expressed shock and betrayal at the arrest. Acting mayor and Common Council President David Maack has called on the mayor to step down. The Racine City Council, which has the ability to remove the mayor from office, has not yet acted on that option.

Democrat Mayor Becker was released from jail Wednesday after a $165,000 cash bond was posted by a relative. Becker's bond was reduced to $10,000 Thursday. Becker has decided to skip already-scheduled plans to attend the inauguration of US president-elect Barack Obama.

Virginia Commonwealth University Police Chief William B. Fuller has been arrested in an online sting operation in Chesterfield County and charged with soliciting sex from a 14-year-old girl, police said today.

Police said Fuller, 50, of the 9000 block of Meadowfield Court in Henrico, was arrested yesterday. They said Fuller believed he was communicating by computer with an underage teen rather than with a police detective.

He was charged with using a communications device to solicit sex from a minor and attempted indecent liberties with a minor.

He is being held without bond in the Chesterfield Jail pending a pre-trial hearing this afternoon in Chesterfield Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.

VCU suspended Fuller without pay and appointed Carlton Edwards, a VCU police captain, as interim chief.

"We've taken action," said VCU Rector Thomas Rosenthal. He said he received a call from university President Eugene Trani this morning about the arrest.

It's scary when some officials acting like a pig. Although, I'm just a mom if I caught someday doing bad thing to my child, I wouldn't let him live. I'm willing to spend my life in jail for it.
