can mi husband friend be an sponsor he is single makes over 40,000 a year but he lives in n.y and we live in atlanta and what form do hes has to fill

he needs to fill out another I-864, but check the "I am the only joint sponsor" (select d for question 1)... also make sure to ask him xerox his birth certificate/ naturalization certificate / etc (required by question 19). In addition, have him request for tax transcripts as well.
