So, our family friend stopped by VFS to pay the courier fees of Rs. 394. they accepted it, stamped the copy of passport, issued a receipt and took in the copy of the NVC letter showing that all required docs have been already submitted.

My fiancee had to drop off a lot of things at the VFS Kolkata office. Our Consulate is Mumbai and this is for a K1.

Here's what we had to submit -

1) Photocopies of all the used pages of Passport both old and new.

(Did check the original passport)

2) Forms DS 156, DS 156K and DS 230 Part 1 only. (printed back to back). They insisted on back to back printed forms.

3) Two Visa photographs

4) Birth Certificate

5) Emails

6) Phone Bills (mine and hers)

7) original I 134 Affidavit of support form, employment letter,

pay stubs, IRS, W2 2007 and form 1040.

8) PCC (both Regional PP office and local PS)

Did not have intent letters. Will take to interview.....

Did not take the medicals as we did not have them. Told to take to interview.

They took the courier fee -Rs. 394.

Said everything looked good.

I don't know about the VFS Mumbai office. Think I read someone went there for K1 and they only wanted the forms. None of the relationship stuff.

Hey my K3 visa interview scheduled on 26th Feb like most of us I too chose CR1 route AOS and IV Packege reached NVC on 9th feb meanwhile I submitted K3 documents At VFS they refused to accept certified copy of PCC from local SP original which I submitted in NVC My worry is if My case does not complete in another week what should I do cancel K3 INERVIEW OR ASK FOR ANOTHER ORIGINAL COPY OF pcc AND take K3 advise is greatly appreciated

Hi Rakesh and Shree,

I think you should try to get another original of the police PCC. We had the same dilemma as our CR-1 case is still in the USA. Fortunately wife was able to get originals of everything. When you say you have a certified copy of the PCC, was it certified by the police officer, or was it notarized? I am surprised they did not accept it but I understand it's totally at the discretion of the officer.

I think you should try to get another original of the police PCC. We had the same dilemma as our CR-1 case is still in the USA. Fortunately wife was able to get originals of everything. I am surprised because when the police provides the PCC its usually 2-3 originals (I got 3) 1 is submitted at the VFS and the rest you will keep for any later use (incase they want more) the police headquarters don't give copies.

My wife just got the two local police PCCs, and both DSP officers refused to issue more than 1 original. She offered to pay for the extra copies, and still they would not budge. So she only has 1 original of each.

My wife was given two originals of the passport office PCC. For the local police PCC she was only given one copy. The only way the local police would give another original PCC was if my wife went through another inquiry, which she did.

We tried with a second inquiry, and they refused to do it for another 6 months. Thankfully I dont plan on going the CR-1 route, unless I have to get the K3 interview letter to get the Ahmedabad passport office to issue the PCC. They seem to be giving everyone a hard time for whatever reason.

Thanks for your input SP office in Udupi agreed to issue one more pcc my worry is if case is not complete by 26th feb at NVC which is my interview for K3 what should be my move take K3 or reschedule the interview suggestions appreciated

vfs at mumbai did not take my document. they just went over it and took fees. gave me receipt with bar code . it show all documnet checked.just took copies of passport. and told me to bring everything on interveiw.
