Yes i know this ppl have started something new.. they want us to get our local pcc verified by the collector local as well as gandhinagar..

today i went to the passport office and had a big fight about the pcc issue. but the ultimate result was not what i wanted...

ultimattely i had to do what i didt wanted to.. as after all the time loss is ours in the fight..

so i approched a agent sitting outside the passport office and agreed to pay him Rs2500 and he said he will get every thing done by wednesday.

My wife and my father-in-law were there this morning as well. They actually went to Gandhinagar, and the guy said I won't do it until the local collector signs it. So they went back home and to the local collector, who said I don't have the authority to do this, I have faxed a letter to the head office and am waiting for a response, btw there are 15 other cases like your pending because of this issue. Talk about process inefficiencies!!!

See i have been going to the passport office since last 10 days and what i have understood is that every one working there are stupid baffonsss. so there is no point wasting time with them or contacting the local collector..

still if u want u can ask ur wife to visit the local collector office first its located opposit to the RTO office. and she may meet the PA to the collector and get it signed from him and take the envolope and go to gandhinagar sector 11 and again get it signed there. and let me tell you for this process tooo she will have to bribe them.

or else what u can do is tell ur wife to contact the agent and pay him 2500 and get the things done.

if u want the contact number of the agent to whome i have given the doc i can provide u the same.

i will suggest dont waste the time just give it to the agent.

Thanks for the information. Now that my wife has to two local pcc documents, she is going to the Ahmedabad passport office tomorrow with the DS-230 cover sheet, and the packet 4 information. Question about the DS-230 coversheet, should the address be my address or her address?? It has her name in the first sentence.

Hi,

Cover sheet of DS-230 will have the beneficiary's name and address will be of NVC. Saying that mail all the documents to the NVC address.

i have yet another question about PCC from passport office.

do they issue a letter from passport office for PCC or they just get a stamp on the passport??

From my understanding you get both a letter/certificate, and a stamp. Did you get your PCC yet?

I got it done but have just got a stamp on my passport so was confused if its ok/enough or not..

i have got it done thru an agent so was not very sure..

My wife is supposed to get the PCC in the mail today. I hope by the time I wake up, she has sent me the scan so I can send in the DS-230 package. The passport officer at the Passport office, said she would receive the stamp plus the letter/certificate. You should call NVC, and see if you submit a scan or copy of the stamp in the passport. Do not submit your passport though, you need to have that in hand when you go for the interview.

My wife got both a stamp in her passport as well as two certificates for the Passport PCC. Hope this helps!!

You should have stamp in passport as well as two copies of pcc from passport office. Just what Q referenced.

Hi,

They will give two PCC and one stamp in the passport. Thsoe two police clearance will be identical. Have to send one to the NVC along with DS-230 documents. Keep one with you for records.
