"Be careful what you wish for!"

i put that the other day in my facebook lmao this is so annoying...she wants to go to california right after we get married, by herself to her aunt's place to visit and her cousin, hmm lets see... with just a k1 visa by herself and california where immigration roams all over... i dont think so and not by yourself... plus i'm on a tight budget, eventhough her aunt wants to pay her ticket there but she said 15 days... i'm like WHOA! and where am i gonna get the money for you for when you guys go out, i'm paying you english classes at my college and also paying the green card process... she's pushing me, and i told her, lets wait until you get the green card at least and by then im gonna have my next vacations and we can go together. She gets pissed and leaves. Ok am i wrong or what, my brother thinks i'm right because she's not being considerate of how i'm working my #### off here and how uncaring she is being, he thinks its her aunt making her go not her, geez, its not like she's going back you know... #######!

Good Morning Sunshines!

good morning cubanita, hey let me get your opinion too from a woman's perspective because i dont know if i'm wrong or right.

Sorry people i bring personal issues here but i just need someone to talk to sometimes and i dont want to get family involved.

In issues like this, I am not so sure there is a right and wrong... I don't think it is that black and white... Going to CA where immigration roams... NOT an issue... she takes her ID, her Passport, the K1, a marriage cert and she is fine... so you cant exactly use that as a defense. In relationships, I think it is best to find a compromise and as my old shrink used to tell me.... DIG DEEPER... is it really the money? the immigration?? not going together??? Personally, as an outsider, I don't see a problem with her going by herself and visiting... 15 days? a tad long, but not outrageous... and although, as an 'old fashioned' kind of guy... I understand that you are paying for things... but she is also giving a lot... and giving up a lot... is one more important than the other? Sometimes... it is even necessary to agree to disagree! (and preferably without being disagreeable) if you get my drift... :)

Relax... you guys will figure it out... OH and one more thing... this wont be the last thing you argue about :)

i understand what you are saying, i'll think it through, i rather have advice from people that are older than i am cuz they have experience, you know what i mean, but yea, what you said will just make me think things through. I guess in a way i admit i wish i'd go with her, but i cant because school begins and also cant afford a trip unless i give up more important things like her schooling and her AOS. Immigration, you're right, its not a big issue. The time, i told her its too much time there just for a short visit like she said it would be, it isnt outrageous but it's pushing it.

PS: Richard, its not the first time we argue and disagree either... she's alot different in person than when we're apart from each other.

yea you are right, i do it backwards, i guess because the lime juice gets rid of the alcohol breath, which helps if you're in a party. I skip the salt because i don't find it tasteful, i prefer the lime. Well that's my way to drink tequila...now if you tell me about body shots then...

Thanks Maire, i understand what you are saying but its not even that, i want her to go but its not the right time, i would feel much better if she would just wait until she has her green card and she's more used to the U.S as well, I dont want her to have a bad experience if they question her visa and such you know. But also like i said before, it's the fact that i dont want her to go with empty pockets. Right now i'm just about to say ok fine go, but 15 days just pushes it right when her classes begin in october, and I have to show her how to get there and her way around campus, but she's not a little girl either so I should just let go a bit, I dont own her and im not putting all i pay in her face but a little consideration would be nice, at least dont push it you know, but if her aunt is saying she's taking care of her for this trip, ok so be it right?

PS: i appreciate honesty, the more the better so i can learn my mistakes and avoid them as well.
