Does anyone use international texting from their mobile phones? What company do you have and what are the costs, out of curiosity?

I've used ---This Site--- for quite awhile now. I can tex (and receive)t from my phone for quite a bit less than my carrier (Sprint) would let me. I also like that it keeps track of every text, and you can sort them however you wish.

I'd rather just go through my carrier, but this is just more cost effective and I can use it anywhere...whether I am in the US or not, and it'll get to me wherever.

Hey all,

I've been reading the posts but don't have much to say lately. It's a bit depressing seeing all you guys finishing up the process while I am still to wait till January... but all in all, we are doing things how we're supposed to and I think we'll definitely benefit in the long run with his army service done.. properly.

I'm really glad everyone is going smoothly out of the process and AP and into the bigger details such as interviews and even POE, it's uplifting and makes it more hopeful that Lampros will have no problem later on.

I'm on Skype.

Thanks all for the replies!

I currently use Skype for texting because it's the very cheapest and easiest we could find. His is only 4 euro cents to send and I'm free receive then mine rounds up to about 12c per text sent.

This is our main form of communication because of the army he can't be online or call often.. so it works and that's what counts :)

I tried boostmobile (pay as you go company) that has 50$unlimited everything plan and 10$ unlimited texting but his phone company doesn't receive from them.. so returned the phone already lol. My sprint cell doesn't allow sending to his phone company either and he can't send to me.

Richard, I think you'll have your honey with you before January... but thank you for the offer, maybe I can just forum jump each month going by :P.

01/23/2009 ----------Leave Athens and my Honey for the processes to begin

02/10/2009 ----------Beginning of Greek Military Obligations for 11 months

03/21/2009 ----------Stationed to Rhodes

07/16/2009-----------Meeting in Spain for 6 days!

01/10/2010-----------Gets OUT of the Army!

02/16/2010-----------Interview!

We'll still be here for you to lean on. Even if it is in January. We have to keep in touch for all of the things that happen after POE. For instance weddings, AOS and our reunion silly. No need to forum jump, but if you have to than you have to, we'll forgive you.

Aww thanks Lee.

I'm probably moving out to the west coast in October.. getting excited to get back over there too! Staying with my mom then when Lampros comes out we'll be able to get our own place and he can help look! We always set little targets to look forward to and a move will take up time very nicely! He's also being stationed to a new camp soon!

So Need and Derek both have their interviews tomorrow right? It's happening fast for everyone. Who is the next person to have their interview after them? They need to hurry up and approve Richard already. He has waited long enough.

Jenny is finishing her medical Friday (she had to wait to finish because of her monthly visitor). If all goes well, her interview is scheduled for 7am Monday.

Is it a better camp? Perhaps one with more communications access. When do you plan on moving out west? Seattle right? Oksana and I have talked about moving, but she's not really sure where she wants to live. I am content in Orlando, but a change could be nice. We'll have to see what the future holds for us.

Is anybody else planning on moving when their SO arrives?

Current plans are for me to fly there on Sept 5/6 and then for her to fly out with her from Manila on Sept 13 to Hawaii for a week. I have a timeshare exchanged for a week on Kauai, and I figure Honolulu is a friendlier place for a POE than Washington, DC. Then it is back here on Sept 20. I'm a bit sad to miss her birthday (Aug 31), but she wants to stay until mid-September and it works with Labor Day... As she told me, we will have plenty more here...

I can't wait!
