philosykos- congrats on an easy interview. You are welcome to join in our Feb. family. We have plenty of room for you here.

Liz- My friend won his fight and get a little bonus for fight of the night. It was a great fight. Although I would have preferred it to have been more one sided, but Dan still won and thats good enough.

We didn't do engagement rings. Not a big deal for Oksana, because they don't typically have them in Russia. Going back to my whole being emotionally retarded the proposal was the most unromantic moment of my life. In fact I still can't believe she said yes. On my third trip to see her I was making breakfast and I had every intention of proposing that day. She was sitting in the kitchen watching me cook and we were talking and I am still not sure how it happened. While I had my back to her I just sort of blurted out that we should get married. She said ok and that was that. I didn't even realize at the time how just bad that was. I would like to point out emotionally retarded once again.

Lee as far as engagement rings, same situation is with myself and Marina. There are no engagement rings in Ukraine, so it will not be an issue.

As far as your proposal, just remember that you are "Manpretty". So you can get away with any kind of proposal.

Oh cool..well, congrats to your friend!!

LOL....that doesn't sound that bad! Pat proposed on a weekend getaway while he was here in Sept 2007...we were staying at a B&B and laying on the bed talking and he leaned over and kissed me, slipped the commitment ring on my finger and proposed. I wasn't expecting it and instead of saying YES...i said "Oh...yeah, I mean YES!"...LOL!

Hugs, Liz

I told her later that while other people may have these really grand romantic gestures ours is more memeorable in its simplicity. Feel free at the reunion to tell her how sweet it was.

Richard- I would take classes to get over my retardation, but it's part of my charm and it might throw off my manpretty.

Don't you dare to do anything that could throw off your manpretty.

Yeah she is home. We talked last night. It would have been better if she wasn't sick. Those are the breaks though. She is so excited, but we only talked for a few moments I wanted her to get her rest.

Did you get to talk to Joanna?

I was wondering if she was excited to get out of AP... good to know...

Yeah, Joanna got back and my sleep schedule is back to getting up at 3 am so we can talk :)

Oh, and first thing she said when she got back... "What number are we" :)

I have a really hard time with rings. I really want to get my SO a beautiful ring, but I want to bang my head against the wall. There is nothing available besides "rock placed on a ring" type of design (if you can call it design at all). I want something beautiful and unique. Might have to end up looking for one when I am in Moscow. Same goes for rings... I've looked through hundreds of pages - nothing that would make me want them.

Unfortunately they do not design rings from the man's point of view, but the American Woman's point of view :) a rock on a ring... and the bigger the rock the better.... :)

That's exactly why I am against engagement rings.

I kind of agree when it comes to engagement ring... but since my SO will live here in the States... I didnt want all the 'other' ladies looking down their noses at her.... and it is also a little ingrained in me as an American man... So the one I decided to get her was modest... so maybe a win/win solution?
